    Why would we do that?

I don't pay much attention to the 'Clowney prefers to play for this team or that team' talk.

He prefers to play for whichever team is willing to pay him what he wants and is willing to give up what it'll take to get him.

    Believe that.

I can't imagine giving up anything close to the compensation the Bears gave up for Mack.

    They can have a 4th, maybe a 3rd.

But without a GM, O’Brien will be the one listening to offers and a HC is much less likely than a GM to part with a player for a future draft pick. He’s going to want something that can help him now and I don’t think we’re in a position to trade a starting player for a guy who hasn’t practiced at all and doesn’t know our system.

Crowder is a slot guy. Assuming he’d step in and fill the role that Enunwa has is off base. Quincy some weeks will be our best and most important receiver. Yes I worry about his health but if he’s healthy he’s probably our best receiver all around.

We need to ADD receivers not trade them.

If the Eagles are seriously interested in Clowney the Jets more than likely are too.

    Why?

    Where did Douglas come from?

Ya gotta give up something to get something. That's the way the world works.

Unless you want to give up a future #1 pick and possibly more to get Clowney.

And I don’t. The Texans have no leverage and unless Clowney says flat out “I am I only playing for ______” then the team trading for him has none either. I’d give up a 2nd at most and that’s only if Clowney commits to us long term and even that doesn’t mean shit. If he ends up going to another team for any combination of starting players and picks then oh well.

Let him go to a contender. Seems like what he wants anyway.

Well looks like we can wrap this one up! If they get him for a second round pick or less I will be pretty upset. If they give up a first or any starting players then I’m unfazed.

^ This. Let the Clownman go to a contender and have Gase focus on developing a QB behind an elite OL that Joe Douglas puts together least Darnold end up another shell-shocked David Carr.

Clowney doesn't only get after rush and pressure the QB (18.5 sacks precious two seasons) but he's also an absolute monster against the run (something sack critics aren't aware of).

He's made the Pro Bowl each of the last 3 years and has looked amazing while doing so.

People who don't appreciate his greatness are truly clueless. He's only 26 years of age too.

    Jamal Adams.
    C.J Mosley.
    Leonard Williams.
    Quinnen Williams.
    Jadeveon Clowney.

An NFL defense being led by those 5 men would be incredible. Clowney would cause havoc every game being surrounded by that type of talent.

I'd personally rather focus on protecting Sam Darnold but you're an idiot if you don't realize how special of a talent this Clowney kid is. He's dual threat. Gets after QBs but is a MONSTER against the run.

He and Ansah are going to be a great duo for Seattle.

Ezekiel Ansah is overrated forreal. He's 30 years old and only coming off a 4 sack season last year.

That’s annoying. Unless the players are key guys.

    29 sacks in 5 seasons.

It’s just another case of fans falling for a big name.

I'd have given that up for Clowney on one condition. He'd have to sign long-term here. My guess is he was only willing to do that for Seattle.

He does more than sack the QB. This was not a case of fans falling for a big name at all especially since most didn’t even want to trade a 2nd for him.
