No argument about free agency. Not saying anything negative about Douglas.
This is about trades which are going on now and will continue until the trade deadline.
There are some who feel he shouldn't trade any draft capital and that trying to win while our QB is making pennies is foolish and that Douglas should take the next couple of drafts to build the roster.
I'm in the opposite corner thinking you absolutely take every advantage you can with Sam being on a rookie deal.

As far as the former GMs, didn't matter what they did, they didn't have a QB

Neither were the Rams when they drafted Goff who is the other team that built through FA and trades to capitalize on his rookie deal.

Either way, I dont get the logic of not trying to improve the roster because we're no one player away.

here is the crazy part. wilsons average cap hit is 35 mil, darnolds is 7.5 mil. that's 27.5 mil extra money which covers bell, robby, and osemele. that's a huge boost

Not sure why Miami is involved considering they're tanking this season and will be bad for at least 2 years. And they're going to be giving up Tunsil too? Morons

And if Adams is up to his recruiting ways that means the Jets are definitely in on Clowney. If they didn't have interest the organization would instruct him to halt these efforts. I have my issues with Clowney, his effort is sometimes lacking. I can see him checking out on games, plays, seasons if the going gets tough. Still even him giving less than 100% effort wise he can disrupt and cause more havoc for a QB than anybody else on this roster. I just don't love or trust his work ethic.

If all of this ends up being legit and we end up with Clowney, they better extend Jamal long before the end of his rookie deal.

There's a story in the Miami Herald that the Dolphins want Clowney plus 2 first round picks for Tunsil.
If they can get that from Huston it be a big win for them.

I'm sure they would like to but with the new CBA due just prior, it going to be difficult to pull off

Yes. But Houston would be insane to do that. Just off the charts insane. Tunsil is good. But I mean he hasn't made a pro bowl or all pro yet even.
    TWO firsts? I'd be shocked

If Adams gets clowney should we just fire Douglas and give him the keys?
Player/gm . We can pay him league minimum as a player and make it up in his gm salary off the cap.

The irony here is if he was out 1st overall pick you would have wanted to cut him for his 4 sacks the first 2 years.
