Yes and this was because they kept Coughlin
which put a lot of pressure on Coughlin, caused him to change his personality & coaching style and caused a lot of heat as they stumbled down the stretch until they beat Buffalo and got a "moral' victory against the Pats. The rest is history.

But this could never happen to the Jets right?

I'm trying to give the Jets the benefit of the doubt, an organization can't blow it up every 4 seasons, the Jets had a top ten defense again, if we can fix the drafting process and the offense, it should make us more competitive.

What if it were the other way around? we had a top ten offense for 4 years and our defense struggled like the offense has? Would we want to blow it all up?

I bet most guys would want to get rid of the DC and replace him with a competent guy and address the needs through the draft.

    Just think about it.

The problem is that if that article stating that Rex overruled Tanny on every decision is true we would be stuck with somebody who Rex has even less respect for running the team. I don't know if Cohen is a good choice or not but it would seem to indicate that any of the the name candidates wanted nothing to do with this team. That's a scary situation if true.

youre missing the point. In a massive way mind you. It wouldnt be up to him to act just like Tanny and be a yes man. The only POSSIBLE way this guy would be hired would be to be a YES MAN. Woody for some strange reason is in love with Rex. Period.

Gamble came in for two interviews. Supposedly, his interview did not go well, I'm assuming the second one. So yeah the name candidates did want something to do with this team, even Caldwell scheduled a second interview with this team. I just want to know what Gamble did to causes hesitance

Lets see dude...they hire a 200k man to go find a GM. The names that are leaked as being the favorites end up somewhere else. The Jets end up hiring the guy who was sitting in the corner the whole time. Woody says Rex will have a say who the GM is. UNless youre 9 years old or profoundly retarded, you would realize that if Cohen ends up the GM, hes gonna be a fuckin yes man.

Maybe he wasn't going to be a yes man?

So this whole search is just a ruse and they wanted to hire Cohen the whole time because he won't say no to Rex even though today in the presser both Woody and Rex made it clear that the GM will have final say over personnel decisions.

Is that what you're trying to say?

Some fans are just in denial man... you don't allow your coach to have any say in who his new boss is. That's just ridiculous. Obviously Rex would pick the guy who he can bully into making plays for "his guys" because we all know how many of "his guys" have worked out... John Connor, Kyle Wilson anybody? Ignoring the offense so "his defense" can look good.

If Woody had any balls he'd have Rex on a short leash, instead he is allowing the guy to dictate who gets hired to oversee him? I guess if you're a young guy who's only been watching this shitstorm since Parcells or Sperm Edwards you'd have no diea who this is going to end up. Those of us who suffered through Walton, Coslet and the laundry list of losers know exactly what is going on.

Obviously Woody has a hard on for Rex, because Woody subscribes to the philosophy that the only bad publicity is no publicity.

The last thing this team needs is a weak GM, without a pair of balls. Woody needs to sell this team, and we all know that is not going to happen.

It was never in it. You, of course, missed the point. All you do is ramble on about the same shit over and over. You never give any substance to your posts. You never have an active part in a convo. You bring nothing to the table other than two line anecdotes about why Woody sucks or why the franchise is screwed. I don't even disagree whole-heartedly with you, that's the funny part. You just have a terrible approach to it.

Im just trying to get it through to you how stupid it is when all someone does is say the same shit over and over and over. You're starting to see it, so there's hope for you yet!

How'd he avoid mentioning that or that even coming up before the second interview? I just think it was something outside of Rex/Woody related that made them hesitate. Any qualms he had he probably would have addressed right away.

ummmm no. The following is only true, if the Jets end up with Cohen. ORIGINALLY, they wanted a Gamble or a Caldwell et al.

Then they come out and say Rex gets a say in the pick of GM. AND the GM doesnt have direct power over the coach. This in turn, turns off any potential GM or obvious reasons.

Then they end up with Cohen...." sure, Ill get an automatic promotion and raise in pay and suck on Rex's dick just like Tanny did.

So, if Cohen ends up being the GM, its because he's willing to be a yes man.

    END OF STORY.
