Yup because according to them, the only thing holding this team back was the offensive coordinator.

I think this blows up in Woody's face because there will be a lot of pressure on the team to win next season with Rex still here. He could have avoided all that by firing Rex and begun a rebuild. This is going to get real ugly and it didn't have to be this way. We're not in position to significantly make the necessary changes to fix all the problems this offseason. Woody is so stupid that he doesn't even realize he's created a much bigger target on his back.

You have to be kidding me. You mean the Jets have fired Tanny and looking to hire Jr. Tanny? I'm really hoping this rumor is some Manesh type BS based on anonymous sources.

I don't get you guys... think of yourselves in your regular daily job. If you were promoted to take your superior's job, would you behave EXACTLY like him?
No clue on how Cohen is at doing his job but to assume he'll be Mr.T point 2 or a yes man seems a bit premature! They have a VERY diffrent background!

Look at Cardinals, just promoted from within (Keim) and everyone think they did the smart thing... and look at their record recently.

I want change. Period. The way this organization has been run is piss poor to say the least. I want someone new to come in with a new train of thought. I want a guy from a successful organization to come in (Gamble, Caldwell, Ross or Dorsey) and instill a new direction for this organization. I dont think that is crazy at all. He's been here for 4 years and every year we have gotten worse as an organization, now Im not saying that its his fault at all, he's just been around an organization run into the ground.

This would be atrocious. Sounds like the move they will make.

If he picks Cohen the problem then is not Sanchez, Rex or Mike T it will be on Woody from here on out. He doesn't even look like an owner. He treat this organization like a live toy. Nerds should not be football owners.

Promoting Scott Cohen would be a terrible decision..

They need new eyes looking at this.

Hate to say it, and don't mean to be picking on you, but Woody does not have good business intuition, let alone any intuition at all.

He was born into family money. He is, essentially, a shy rich kid and that was never more evident than it was today at the press conference. He does not exemplify himself as a leader, or a self-made man. He reflects the personality of a loser.

Promoting from within doesn't mean lack of change... not necessarily. I'd be much more concerend with keeping Bradway to tell you the truth.

Great we are going to be stuck with Cohen. Caldwell was hired already.

About to head to Houston. Can say this on Atlanta's Dave Caldwell -- Both Jags and Jets are confident that they can land him.

I like how people are 100% sure that Cohen is a bad choice. Who the hell knows who the best option is to run this team?

Ideally, I'd go outside of the organization to get a new voice in. But maybe Cohen is a great choice with a good vision for the team. It's not like a coach, where you can more easily pinpoint his job: who knows which of these guys would be the best?

Oh thank God. The other thread scared the shit out of me. We can't hire from within it just won't work. The FO has been inept in acquiring depth for 2 seasons now. A breath of fresh air is needed.

This move ( cohen )would make ZERO sense  I have been saying that this might happen for a while now and I hope and pray it does not ! After watching today's presser it appeared even moreso to me that this could be THEIR move ,,,if this happens it sucks ! You guys that hoped for continuity should love this if it happens

All this said,,,NO big name guy with credibility is coming here under these circumstances ,,,,by that I mean having Rex forced on them ! The GM picks the coach not the other way around,,,it's ass backwards

I still hope we hit a HR with the gm but it ain't likely,,,,,Rex is the only guy standing and everyone else got run over by the bus  in my eyes the move was to blow the whole thing up and start fresh,,this is insane

While we are on the subject of insanity if you think Norv is coming here you are nuts,,,,,,I would luv to eat crow about this whole freaking post but history says I won't and that Woody is screwing this up big time

I think people just want someone with different ideas and not someone from the current "Jets mold". Mold can be a big problem.

Did not the Giants hire their current GM from within and Coughlin was already the HC?

Can we wait till all the pieces are in place before we jump off the ledge, cmon men, reading this forum lately feels like a soap opera, twist and turns, emotional ups and downs, when all is said and done, lets analyze the pro and cons of everything.

The biggest reflection of the new regime will be the draft, I know its a little far off but that will tell me if it's a complete disaster, stop listening to Fatcessa, let the media go crazy with speculations about the future.

Are people really going to be jumping off the bridge right now? They haven't even hired anyone yet. Shit, calm down...
