To be fair there were plays to be made in the first half, Keller's drops were terrible especially the one where he had an angle on the LB...he probably would have gotten 20 yards there
It's a mixture of everything. That McKnight play early on would've gone for 50 or so if Sanchez could hit a wide open guy. It wasn't even anywhere near him. This is why I get annoyed when people try to boil it down to "it's all the WRs/Schotty/OLines fault" Sometimes its a braindead Schotty playcall. Sometimes its the WRs not getting open/dropping the ball. Sometimes its the OLine not blocking long enough. Sometimes its Sanchez missing wide open guys. They all stink at times and none of the groups on offense are good enough to cover up the weaknesses of the others. You could make a very strong case for getting rid of everyone but obviously that's not going to happen. I tend to key on Sanchez personally because QB is the position where its easiest to elevate others play and its obvious at this point that Sanchez is never going to be that guy.
I agree completely. Instead of Shotty, isn't that on Rex to an extent? Doesn't he need to tell the O-coordinator to run the fucking ball there? Not saying you blamed Shotty at all. I'm just thinking aloud to see what you think.
A coach's job is to put his players in the best position possible to succeed. Schottenheimer NEVER does that - he calls his plays and expects players to execute them. That is NOT what a good coach does. If Sanchez isn't capable of executing certain things you take those out of the playbook. If the OL is getting pushed back so often that passes are constantly being knocked down you take those kinds of passes out of the playbook. The Jets were not going to replace Sanchez this year, yet Schottenheimer has done nothing I can see to maximize his strengths and minimize his weaknesses. That is ALL on him, and by extension Ryan for letting him do it.
A Qb's job is to find open receivers and get rid of the ball not to pump fake 5 times giving the defense 10 extra seconds to sack you, Sanchez never does this.
Exactly. I think Schotty tries to make his players fit his plays instead of making his plays fit his players
Withot a doubt he must go Rex gets a pass Sanchez gets a a pass. We are a running football team. Sanchez should throw the ball less than 15x a game. Build the o-line. Get another running back, run the ball and hit 'em with play-action.
YES CATCH THE BALL NOT LET IT BOUNCE OFF YOUR HANDS OR YOUR HELMET but that's just all the more reason we SHOULDN"T HAVE THROWN 3 STRAIGHT PASSES ON FIRST & TEN AT 50 WITH 5:48 LEFT IN THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bullshit. He went 18 for 28 in the first half, aftr hitting Keller in, the face mask, the rathole, and the hands. should have been 75% for the first half. The bad call was the safety at two minutes. HOW THE F*** DO YOU CALL A DEEP DROP THER???
Giants could not protect their A gap, of all running lanes. So you throw the ball umpteenth time? Nice game planning, bro. If Rex can be said to have bad game (like last week) Schottenheimer is also capable of that (and he has done it times and again.)
That McKnight play was a killer, he had him wide open. That's my point, as bad as Schottenheimer was there were plays to be made that simply weren't
Shotty during interview with the Dolphins: "If you hire me and give me six years to develop the offense, I will deliver the following:" 1- A Receiving core that can't go deep or get open. 2- A clueless o-line that can't stop a nose bleed. 3- I will ask a turn-over-pron, avg QB to throw 59 times. 4- TE's that jump offsides, hold, and can't block or catch passes. 5- A solid running game I PROMISE to abondon every chance I get for a 'cutsie' play or 3 passes in a row by our avg QB being protected by our below avg o-line to receivers that cant get open, and if they do will fumble the ball or get flagged for offensive PI or excessive celebreation. 6- And last, I garuantee our offense will never be the strenght of the team and will happily defer to the team's defense. /interview
well the players are just not making the plays. MS looks like a cluster fuk in the pocket and the basic passes are just not being completed. keller has his head up his ass and IMO his next contract may be with another team. there is NO downfield game and this is just like what happened when we were graced with pennington in there. a thorough review of all positions is needed with some tough decisions. i hope the right people are in place to do that. this window is just about closed with the current group of players. if we do appear in a SB in the next 5 years it may very well be without revis, and quite possibly sanchez.
