the Raiders were old thought, their decline was expected a year or 2 before it actually happened. We have a young core but the facts are outside of NE w/ a healthy Brady and Indy w/ a healthy Manning no team makes it to postseason every year.
Did it ever occur to the OP and you guys agreeing with him that if Schotty is that much more attractive that MAYBE the replacement isn't as good and MAYBE we should be keeping him, assuming Sanchez agrees ? We just replaced 3 of the 4 top WR's for Mark in a lockout shortened season. It worked out spendidly, right ? Now you guys are all 100% gung-ho to throw out the ENTIRE PLAYCALLING SYSTEM that Sanchez has had 3 seasons to get familiar with and want him to study a new one (with his rumored reputation of not being able to grasp the playbook). How soon before the first "SHOULD WE HAVE KEPT SCHOTTY" thread next September ??????
You seem to be one of the biggest defenders of Schotty on this site. I'm sure some people see your replies to his lack of production as valid reasons while others see it as excuses. To each his own. One thing still escapes me though. I've yet to see you come up with reasoning behind Schotty's lack of understanding down and distance (in my opinion, his biggest flaw). Say what you will about the QB and talent he had to work with. There's no excuse for a professional offensive coordinator to not know down and distance. If doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that 5 yard curl routes won't work on 3 and 8.I'm just curious to know your stance on that aspect of his playcalling.
too many people look at that one clip at NE and think we ran that every play, I don't see bad offense, I don't see bad playcalling, I see poor execution whether it's the QB, OL, WRs, RBs. They all had breakdowns and that was the biggest problem I saw, if I hated the O or playcalling I'd say so. It's too easy to just blame the OC especially when you see what Atlanta did yesterday w/ a supposed better OC and supposed better QB and a lesser team than most that we have beaten the last 2 postseasons.
