yeah the proof will be in the pudding this year. i'd love to see us just have an identity. be a running team. that'd be nice, no more of this play to the opponents weakness bullshit. but we'll see if it was mangini changing the plays or shotty just not calling good games.
horrible move, his offenses in 3 yrs have been borderline disgraceful, they need to move on and find a good coach for this offense
I to would like to see Schotty given another chance. But the more I think about it Ryan really should be allowed to pick his own staff.
Yeah, and I ask the same question. Sportsnet is making the huge leap that because he has a year left on his contract he is staying. Where do the Jets say he is staying? You know, the part that would mean something.
They recognize that Schotty was a question mark and say the question was answered. If they aren't just making shit up, like you do on a regular basis, then they got that report from someone in the organization or they wouldn't have said it.
I don't make anything up. I also don't believe everything some beat reporter or hack column writes like you do. ESPN says it's Ryan's decision to make and that is the only thing that would make sense. Obviously, only a fool would think he is staying if he want out or if Ryan wants somebody else and Ryan hasn't even been hired yet.
Schotty in 2006 was bold and innovative. I don't know what happened to that guy over the next two years. But if the 2006 version came back next season, I'd be pleased about that.
He ain't Hank Stram or Bill Walsh, those a the last two innovators who won SB. You win buy stopping the run and running the ball and having a playmaker at QB with weapons around him.
Lay off the dope Don. 1) You talk out of your ass on a regular basis. I don't need to go back and look up the posts for proof, you know the truth deep down inside. 2) I never once said I believe everything a beat reporter says. Someone from SNY reported the question has been answered. They have no reason to report that without someone from the organization telling them so. 3) You are probably the biggest fool that regularly posts on this site.
I'm ok with Schotty staying as long as REX has him on very short leash and Leon gets minimum 12 touches a game..
someone leave a memo on his desk "attention, mr schottenheimer, are you aware that leon washington is on your team? and hes not paralyzed?"
Schotty's 2006 offense was hard for teams to defend early on, but halfway through the season, no defense worth it's weight in tuna fish was falling for the offenses he was calling. He got game-planned out of effectiveness. I stopped being impressed with this guy a while ago.
The possibilities are endless if Schotty stays on board. Rex recreates his dads most memorable moment by punching him in the face. Schotty must stay.
I don't care who the Jets assistants are as long as Ryan wants them. He needs to be able to pick his staff without interference from anyone else. That way he's accountable for the team's performance. If coaches are being forced on him as part of the deal that's not a good thing.
He probably can't get a HC gig for at least 2 years and that may be enough time for Rex to self destruct or Tannenbaum to throw him under the bus?
