it's 3 yards in 2 plays, if you don't have enough confidence in your oline to do that then i guess i know what we will be drafting next year.
Don't bother with this group, they've already got their pitchforks ready . If the Jets tried to run on 3rd and 4th and failed they'd be complaining that we should have thrown the ball - whiners have to whine about something when we lose.
Guess what our running game didn't beat the Pats, Sanchez and the passing game did. Our running game didn't beat Houston Sanchez worked miracle after miracle on third and longs. Our running game was embarrasing against the Phins and Sanchez kept us in the game. Get used to the INT's because there are going to be more of them and if we stop throwing get used to our running game being stuffed and allot more games that are lost by a FG when are backup lineman gets called for holding when were in FG range or one of our special teams guys throws a punch. Sanchez in several games this year has had the balls to make plays and win them. When you have balls and can make plays you get INT once and awhile. Sanchez had a stinker on Sunday but the team had the game won and other guys blew it who weren't rookies. Stop crying about the INT's, qb's who can actually throw the ball down field and make plays have plays made on them. You want to win a SB your QB has to make plays and get the ball outside the hash marks and down the field or your just another team that's easily defensed and going nowhere.
The Bills did all they could to shut down the run. The gaudy stats came on two plays, the long TJ runs. They also game planned against allowing LW to get open on the short stuff. Remember too, on Sanchez's 4th INT when he tried to force another ball into Edwards, Leon was wide open in the flat, and Sanchez looked him off... or perhaps just didn't see him. If it was the latter, Sanchez needs to look to Leon more than he does. Any NFL team has got to throw the ball, even in bad weather. It's on the QB to check down. Sanchez just isn't experienced enough yet. If I find fault with the coaches, it's that I don't think they are getting through to him. Why was he always alone on the sideleines after each pic? Sanchez is intelligent, but he isn't football smart, not yet anyways.
Both Excellent posts and what I've been arguing for the past two days. But I'm now labeled a Shotty cheerleader because I don't want him run out of town. People just look at stats and say wow we ran for over 300 yards and they let Sanchez throw for 5 picks - why didn't we just run . These are the guys who complained how one dimensional we were with Chad , now we have a QB who can stretch the field and they want to be one dimensional again because our QB had a bad day.
I am not fully blaming schotty for this loss. And this post is not just about this loss. It is about his tenure. He has just been bad with the talent he has. I cited several things he could do that he is not doing. I don't think there is much arguement against them. Think about what schotty has vs what he has done. 1) He has one of the best lines in league 4 1st rounders. 2) RB with the 2nd most yards in the league in the past 4 years (TJ) 3) One of the most electrifying open field runners in the game (LW) 3) Excellent receiving TE 4) Started with decent WR, now has one of the best tandems in the league. 5) 5th pick in the draft at QB. He is not nearly preforming to his talent. Not even close. Who was to blame this Sunday? Lots of people. Sanchez had a bad game. He's rook, it will happen. He has upside...blah blah. We would be seeing much more of his upside if our OC was not such a dunderhead.
That's funny because when I said that it wasn't Shotty's fault you Said you Disagree then now you say you don't blame him for the loss? Dude, you are losing a lot of credebility points here with your posts being all over the place.
All I caught was OT because of where I live, but it seemed like there was plenty of run left. Late in the game is a great time to start hammering them.
I think the point is, if your getting off big runs and you have the lead, don't put your boy who already has 4 picks in a position where he can throw another one. I keep hearing people complaining Sanchez was moping on the sideline. How about Schotty bring him those pretty little pictures that every team has during the game and help him? You can't honestly sit there and say Schotty doesn't call some absolutely horrendous plays at the most inopportune times. I don't care about all his mad-scientist plays. How about just call a solid game.
I think biggs, some other guys, had a good point. When you're picking up six yards a carry, not averaging, but picking that up consistently, then running over and over is common sense. I still think we got the line up backwards. First Greene, who's going to dig for tough yards, then Leon, TJ as our third back, the closer. Greene will wear down defenses early, and TJ will be so pissed off about being third string and not getting carries that he'll actually run hard.
Take it easy stretch. It is shottys fault. And there is fault to go around to others too. I never said that schotty and only schottly lost the game. Stop twisting what I said.
No, I'm realistic . We lost the game because we had too many turnovers and penalties overall. Sanchez struggled plain and simple.
So what your saying is you want an ultra conserative offense. And why was this gameplan a bad one. If Sanchez made the throws its certain we would have won. Its easy to go back and criticize any gameplan after plays have failed. You can do do that with the best coaches/teams/coordinators after any loss. What horrendous call was made Sunday , becuase we tried to throw does not make the call bad - just the result of the play. Now if we had 4th and 10 and they called a run play - I'd agree with you.
