What is the Hue Jackson fixation? The man mortgaged his season for a washed up Carson Palmer...Now he's Bill Walsh? You can see in this thread already dismay at any other scenario. Thrilled Schottenheimer's gone, but there are plenty of candidates.
Great news - hopefully whoever replaces him can get in ASAP and start working with the O-Line and Sanchez to get them functioning to a decent level again.
Tony Sparano has been first in line for Jets in event of this move, per league sources. Expect an announcement by Wednesday. #Jets #NFL32 Mort is really pushing that Sparano is our New OC. I mean its better than Schotty I just wish we could get Hue.
Interesting how the Jets and Schotty portrayed it like it was his decision to "part ways" **Does this mean the Jets don't have to pay him his contract!?
"has been", that was before Jackson became available. You just know Rex is treating Tanny to an all-night orgy of buffalo wings and supreme nachos as we speak
RichCimini Rich Cimini #Jets will hire former Miami coach Tony Sparano as new OC, according to @mortreport.
First off best of luck to schotty in the future. Regardless of performance he was a class act and you can tell the Jets and him basically had an agreement we won't fire you so hopefully you can get a head coaching but if you don't you step down. As for replacements I would prefer Hue over Sparano but I don't love either. No dirk koetter please!!! Wouldn't mind giving an up and comer from the saints or packers a shot but not sure who that would be. Would have liked to see Callahan step but I guess that isn't happening.
I wish the Jets would at least speak with Jackson (unless they gauged his interest throughout the day) before handing it to Sparano. No need to rush now.
It's about bloody time. Wow, from the doom of Mularkey getting the Jags job to the jubilation of Schotty leaving town, awesome.
