All due respect, that's a really stupid question. I'm not so sure that it bears answering. What do YOU think?

He went to jail and paid his dues, but I'm not going to stand up and cheer for him in any capacity whatsoever...ever...that's the difference here. We aren't talking about the court of law. We are talking about being a football fan.

Holy fuck, dude. You should listen to yourself.

    Wow.

What Vick did was well-documented, and there is no doubt about what he did.

What he did has nothing to do with anything else in the history of mankind.

I refuse to stand up and cheer for that guy. No way.

I think he's probably the worst person to ever walk the earth.

    What is your argument anyway?

That two wrongs make a right?

Somebody else is worse, so he's OK?

    What?

I'm telling you that there is no way in hell I'm going to stand up and cheer for a guy that did what he did. Tortured and murdered animals for his own entertainment...that's too much.

What is not to understand about that?

damn... u people love your damn dogs.. Vick did his time and owned up to his mistakes. that has nothing to do with why i dont want him here on the jets though.. i think its just a distraction for geno.. i dont see how a guy that believes he should be a starter is going mentor anyone.. im good with our version of #7 in green and white already.. plus what if geno gets hurt... would yall really be ready to rely on the injure proned shell of himself Mike Vick? that 2010 season aint happening again.. can forget that

ps vick would look flat out weird not wearing number 7..

Who would cheer for that? I would cheer for him if he helped the Jets win. That's what I care about in terms of the Jets. I don't care that the team has a bunch of retarded thugs on it. I don't think any fan should but if you do I would expect you to really dislike the nfl since it's choc full of retarded thugs. I'm sure the Jets are no exception I mean we have players jerking off in target parking lots and shit.

    I think it's a joke.

How can one team be so fucked up at the QB position for so many years? Vick? What the fuck. So damn depressing.

    Perhaps I differ from you.

But again, I could never stand up and cheer in a GAME for a guy that did what Vick did. I hope I don't have to say that again. It is not a complicated way of thinking whatsoever. There are no corners to cut around it, either.

And I don't like everyone in the NFL, but those things don't nearly fall into the Michael Vick realm. "Thug" is an overused word though, used WAY too loosely.

Again, you seem way too willing to excuse somebody of terrible behavior just because someone else may have misbehaved in different ways. "Jerking off in parking lots" has as much to do with what I'm talking about as the price of tea in China.

The dog lovers are out in full force today. You need to get over it. If he does play for the Jets at at some point and ends up helping the team, there are 31 other teams you can go root for instead. Maybe half of them have choir boys like you are expecting NFL teams to have.

    Now that's a good question.

I may tune out, but it would be just like the Jets to put their fans in that position.

Some of us seem to have different priorities.

You know, something crazy like valuing respect for life over entertainment and sport...go figure. Some people do insane things like devalue people that choose to take particular glee in the pain, suffering, and death of any being. Don't care if he went through the system over it. He's still pegged that way with the stigma in my book, and always will be. This asshole's gonna take away my team?

Here's the "WINNER" in his dog pack:

You should see the other guy...

What are your thoughts about that? Did this to countless dogs. You're over it, I suppose. Don't care at all?

My take is incomprehensible, I know. I have a real problem. I'm working hard to "get over it" and realize that touchdowns are more important than that.

    Fuck that's disgusting.

He'd be a perfect fit (experienced looking for a job, knows the system, could challenge the young guy) but do we really need this headache after the Tebow fiasco? I'd rather a Jason Campbell or some other middle of the pack vet to push Geno. Not like turnover prone band aids are hard to find.

Vick is the lowest scum on the earth, I don't know how I'd root for him if the Jets got him. You don't have to like dogs to be disgusted by how he treated them.

I'd much rather go after Schaub. He's better than Vick too. Just needs a change of scenery.

Again, If the Jets go after Vick he will start and they have no confidence in the fact that Geno is ready. IF they go after SHaub, Campbell or keep Sanchez they think Geno can take the step but have a security blanket.

They don't have confidence in Geno regardless, and they shouldn't. He improved a lot as the year progressed but struggled a lot as well. It's impossible to know what kind of leap (or slump) he'll make next year so the smart thing is to bring in a veteran.

Don't cheer for him. I could give a rats' ass.

If we signed him and he ends up helping us win a Super Bowl (pipe dream, but for the sake of argument), i'll give him a standing ovation.

You can cheer for a player without cheering for the man. I have a friend who is a Steeler's fan who loves Roethlisberger as a QB but with all the allegations of rape hates him as a person. He still cheers when Big Ben completes a TD pass, that doesn't make him pro-rapist it just makes him pro-Steelers winning games.

My wife doesn't feel the same way and she is not a football fan by any means but she loves animals and, unfortunately for me, Michael Vick is one of the few football player names that she remembers. An autopick fantasy football league gave me Vick as a backup QB one time and she was mad that I had him on a fantasy football team (dropped him because he wasn't worth the slot anyway) so I can only imagine the kind of reaction if I watched and cheered for him every week.

Ha gotta love dudes like you who draw lines in the sand like this. Good luck w/ that mindset in life. I didn't realize that not torturing animals makes one a choir boy; amazing logic on the internet.

This piece of shit is not even good anymore. You think Sanchez/Geno are TO prone? Hopefully Idzik is just doing his due diligence and looks elsewhere.

Let the Browns sign Ron Mexico.

The irony here is, he plays in a sport where many end up crippled or brain damaged...and we watch it. But I agree with your larger point.

Vick, although injury prone, and having a 33 year old body that's more like a 45 year old's body, seems to be the best choice for a backup to Geno or possible starter for us. What he did to the dogs was horrible, but I care more about the Jets winning (call me sick, crazy, whatever) than dog abuse. Oh well.
