Just be careful... Every time I read some deviant shit it's coming out of Texas, Florida or Pennsylvania (oddly enough). Seriously, saw a story, not but a couple months back about 3 brothers getting arrested for having sex with animals and shit. ONLY in Pennsylvania. Of course, in Florida, you also have to make sure you don't get your face blown off by some loser gun nut wannabe on a "stand your ground" case. Yeah, Florida and Texas are two states I will never step foot in again. Not for $200 Billion dollars... On Fields, I was mildly optimistic but it didn't take long to shit that one down the drain. Well, if there actually is talent there Reid will squeeze it out. If not, that will be his last stop as a QB.
I just got the alert from the Jets about it on my phone. I'm shocked they got anything for him. A sixth round pick is terrific.
Odd move by the Chiefs. Andy is losing it in his old age? He can't possibly be planning to play him at QB? I'd LOVE to see that if it happened when they are playing the Jets. Put him in wildcat type packages? But I read his selfish behind didn't want to help the Jets by doing that? A position change?
Other teams were interested too. I think a big reason why he is not viewed as a total bust is that Jets offensive coaching was awful. Even though Glenn waited for some time to fire them, there were so many opening this year, where they had a lot of opportunities. And yet our OC did not get a call for any OC jobs, even though Detroit and Chicago, two HCs he worked for before needed an OC. He went back to passing game coordinator, which is probably where he belongs. I really don't want to hear any more comparisons to MILF, whom it took all of two seconds to get another OC job for a great organization when we fired him. Out passing game coordinator (yes we actually had one) is out of a job, and our QB coach and running game coordinator is now offensive analyst. Given all that and the fact Fields went 4-2 with Arthur Smith, still young, maybe Andy Reid actually can get something out of him. But ... not our problem now. We take 6th round pick and run.
Sean Payton basically pointed it out best a few years ago. Sometimes when the coaching is that bad, and it's been really freaking bad here the last few years on the offensive side (lots here seem to want to shy away from acknowledging that though in favor of just dropping more 2025 fail/hate on Glenn), you just kinda have to throw that sample data out the window. Which I'm guessing pretty much every competent front office in the league is going to do looking in at the Jets' QB play tape. Prior to taking the bag from the Jets Fields was widely regarded as one of the better backups in the NFL. One year here and playing under an OC who got the job for all the wrong reasons wasn't going to change that. Sadly there is also probably a decent chance imo he is still a better overall NFL QB production play imo then any of these kid QBs in the upcoming draft not named Mendoza.
At some point you have to recognize that Fields wasn’t good for two other franchises and the OC of the Jets had nothing to do with that.
