http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7dxPzUBoi4 hoping for the best out of him, he was most projected to go in the 2nd round, and if not the 3rd but an absolute steal at 4th round for us. He did pretty well for the few touches he got behind reggie with 51 carries 4.9 ypc Edit: fuck... 34miami23 ninja'd me
I firmly believe that Lamar Miller is going to make an impact next year. Dolphins signed Keller today to a one year contract.
I know and I LOVED the pick ... but now he's got to endure a whole season with more than 51 carries. Despite the talent ... he is still a bit of an unknown.
who has come out of UM in recent years? I think the last successful Miami RB to enter the league was Gore in 2005, that's a long time ago
Brother you are a piece of work. Who came out of UM? Cooper, Hill, James, Johnson (right of the top of my head). I also didn't mention anything about a 'success'. I just simply said that he is the best RB coming out of UM in the last few years. But since you mentioned Gore. Miller is actually considered better than Gore, McGahee and Porter. All are multiple Pro Bowlers.
I didn't say who came out of UM, I know they have had a million great RBs but no one has come out in recent years. You make it sound like Edge, Gore, etc... have come out in recent years. No one has come out of UM in recent years. When Miller actually does something in this league and is better than Gore, McGahee, etc... then I'll consider him better than those guys. ( Who is Porter by the way? ) and if he was considered better than Gore, McGahee, etc... why were Gore and Mcgahee 1st rd picks(McGahee a 1st rounder even after a devatating knee injuy meant he couldn't play his rookie year) and Miller a 4th rounder?
He played most of the last college season nursing a left shoulder injury that required a harness on game days and kept him from practicing much of the season, and shoulder surgery is needed. Even then he was still projected to go in the 2nd, without injury he clearly could of gone in the 1st but there are too many factors like talent in the draft and team needs to factor in terms of where a player is drafted. But draft selection isn't the end of all judgement in terms of who looked better in college
it's about production in the NFL which he doesn't have, the othe poster told me he was more highly regarded than the other UM RBs- I don't care what they circumsatnces are he was a 4th rd pick and hasn't done anything in this league. Again, McGahee destroyed his knee and was going to be out his rookie season and was still a 1st rd pick so you can't tell me Miller is more highly regarddd than those players when they entered the league.
In Keller's conference call right now he said the Dolphins offered a longer deal but he picked the short term deal.
Of course he did. He still thinks hes a Pro Bowler, and assumes he'll get the mega contract after making it to the Pro Bowl. Good luck with that Dustin.
I meant of course Portis. A typing error. Yes you did ask who came out of UM. Gore was a third round draft pick BTW. The comparison of course can only be made through the college years. And Miller hurt his draft status by declaring early. Miller was expected anywhere to be between the 4th and 8th ranked RB in the 2012 draft. He was the 8th taken. He hasn't been the featured back yet for the Dolphins. But his spot duty was promising.
Yes he was and is very high regarded. I gave you the reasons why he dropped in the draft. He was only one full year a starter. In that year he was the first running back since McGahee (2002) to run over 1000 yards in a season. Production for running backs in the NFL is usually based on YPC. His average was 4.9. That number would put him in the top 10 if he had enough runs to qualify. The idea with Miller was not to throw him to the wolves with a rookie QB. Bush was at that point the featured back. Miller was scheduled to be eased into the NFL. But honestly, I am not here to discuss Miller with you.
couple points here. I dont mind the Phins fans coming here and talking about Keller signing for the rest of the day or so but we really dont give a fuck to hear about your other offensive players or your predictions for this year. Its a Jet board but we have an NFL forum. this bullshit conversation doesnt belong in this thread. Secondly, what kind of a retard signs a one year deal? Keller is a mediocre player. End of story. Hes one dimensional and that one dimension isnt even consistently present. Good riddance. The next cunt I look forward to seeing leave is of course Sanchez
Funny because a jets fan sparked the conversation and was wondering who are RB would be so we replied but sorry for forcing you to read this thread and post :breakdance:
