if those 2 were healthy the QB would have been much better, the offense would have been much better and we would have won at least 2-3 more games and possibly been a playoff team. Losing those 2 was HUGE.
Mr. "I don't wanna be franchised" took a 1-year deal?! This FA period must have been a very humbling period for him. Wondering how much Dolphins offered him. Although I'm not a Dustin Keller fan, I give him props for self-confidence. He's betting on himself this season. Agreeing only to a 1-year contract so he can give himself a chance to play well & hit FA again next year.
They were healthy in 11 and the team only won 8 games... with a less than mediocre offense. One year older, with a worse O-coordinator and a worsing/damaged QB, they wouldn't have done any better than that.
Son of a btch!!!! I just heard it reported on 98.5 Sports Hub in Boston ....... I don't know why Jets wouldn't try to resign him especially for a 1-2 year deal. Sent from my LG-P999
@$15 under the cap we probably could have signed him to a 1 year deal. But just appears the Jets didnt want to.
Or... he'll be exactly what he was here when healthy. A guy who will give you four decent catches a game, drop one pass in a big moment, or otherwise do something else that makes you scratch your head. Certainly not a bad player, but honestly not disappointed to lose him. He can be replaced.
OL and D were much worse, schedule was tougher and we won 8 games. W/ those 2 healthy we win at least 9 games this year.
Does this assumption of yours include an offseason signing of Peyton Manning? That's the only way the Jets would've gotten 9 wins last year.
we won 6 w/ an awful group of healthy weapons. Add 2 guys like Keller & Holmes and of course we are much better. Isn't it amazing we won so many games w/ Mark when we had healthy talent?
I agree he was on the up before last season. Doesn't help that the receiving core wasn't very good either around him.
Although the Fins overpaid for Wallace, they are doing the right thing by giving Tannehill solid targets.
I don't think he will be "better" for us. I do think the west coast O fits his skillset much better. We won't be asking him to block for a power run style O like the Jets had been asking him to do so we probably won't have that frustration. Now the drops will piss me off. Then again, after Brandon Marshall I'm not sure anybody's drops will bother me quite that much.
As long as Keller is a secondary target in your offense (which he will be as long as everyone is healthy) then he'll be fine. Its when he needs to step up and be a lead player that he makes you want to put your head through a wall.
