You can look at it the other way. Here are two black guys sucking. Maybe the league needs to hire more white coaches. (I never understood what a man's skin color has to do with coaching a football team.)
this isnt crennel's first year in cleveland...and honestly i'd give him another year, but it seems he has lost his players and the fans so he probably should be tossed it is vital to a coach to have some improvement the first season and if not the roster gets flushed...and then hope for some signs the 2nd year especially with non-player friendly coaching styles...and crennel has gotten nowhere
Crennel definitely deserves more time in Cleveland, he's a great coach, this isn't his problem at all, it's a result of years and years of poor drafting. But if they are dumb enough to fire him, I'd love to see him be the Jets DC. Nothing against Sutton, but this is Sutton's first year with the Belichick-esque defense that Mangini runs, while Crennel has over a decade's worth of experience with it.
Right here. Raiders most likely not going top fire Shell. For my sake and the Raidernation, hopefully he resigns(claiming health problems as the reason) Than raiders announce Bobby Petrino the head coach and we take his QB with number 1 pick. Raiders win the 2007 superbowl.
JEts offense and Pennington do anything on Raiders. Than I will take it like a man. Will be here for everyone to ridicule January 1. Jets are not beating the Raiders. AL davis and Raiderjeaux will see to that.
This is so ridiculous. No one really knows what's going to happen in ANY game, of course (this is the NFL), but to talk smack after being wrong so many times this year, when your team has a 2-13 record, is truly absurd.
Frankly the premise of this whole thread is ridiculous. A reporter who has no access to the Raiders front office, and more importantly has no access to Al Davis, reports that Shell will be fired after the season. Then the next day he backpedals and says "Al could always change his mind". Way to go out on a limb there, Skippy! I'd just like to know why Schefter, who didn't cite Al Davis or anyone in the Raiders front office, would go with this story as fact. He could have said "it's my opinion" or "I expect this to happen", but he didn't. Weird.
Not sure why you quoted my post to post this, since the only thing I was talking about was jeaux's ridiculous smack-filled guarantees about the Raiders, ALL of which have been wrong this year. I don't care at all, believe me, but the thread title is "Schefter: Art Shell to be Fired at End of Season", which strikes me as about as accurate a reflection of the thread as you could ask for. Expecting Schefter to cite a particular person in the front office is a bit much, I think, since that would guarantee that person's dismissal in about 3 nanoseconds. Just because Al Davis says Schefter has no access to anyone in the Raiders front office, that makes it true? Not really.
I didn't mean to quote your post, sorry about that. Just meant to hit "reply". Actually Howie Long said the same thing, not just Davis. And my point is, the only guy who could tell Schefter that Shell would be fired is Davis, and that clearly didn't happen. So even if someone else in the front office said it, Schefter should have qualified his statement. Davis is the only guy who will make that decision, and Schefter knows that. Why report it as fact? That's all I'm saying. The thread is valid, that's what message boards are for. The actual "reporting" by Schefter is ridiculous.
your smoking something, your the one whos going to criticize our offense? your team couldnt move a football out of its Wilson packaging and into the hands of a player. your d is pretty good, but gimme a break. no game is a gimme but you get completely offended about it. weve gone 7-3 in our last 10. your the worst team in the conference. were playing at home for the playoffs. the last time the raiders had the jets number eric barton was on your defense. put it to rest, you guys have good potential, but your OL is a waste of space, wait till next yr for your team to actually get something going, cuz its not happening this weekend.
bump Re: 9 It began with a 14-7 win on Monday Night Football on October 9, 1989. (Shell had replaced the fired Mike Shanahan as the Los Angeles Raiders head coach). It ended with a 23-3 loss on December 31, 2006.
