Just reading Tom Rock's Newsday blog, it is conceivable that the Jets may be playing the Eagles in the first week, but as noted, that would be unlikely since they play in the last week of the preseason. Imagine having to play the same team 10 days apart. That would render the last preseason game as totally meaningless. I wonder if this has ever happened before.

It's totally meaningless anyway, the Jets and eagles barely play any starters in that game if they play any.

They always try to put teams together the first week that had similiar records the yr before.

The Jets will host either Philadelphia, KC, or Pitt to open the season, I'd be willing to bet it's phili.

Hopefully like last yr! Week 9 was perfect. It was really nice to have that after having constant byes so early in the season before hand. Although, I would personally rather that the nfl completely do away with the bye week, and just make it a 16 week season. The bye week was implented because there was an odd number of teams. With 32 teams, a bye week is useless.

Beating KC to win the division, and knocking Herm out of the playoffs at the same time would be a really fantastic scenario. If it worked out that way...

Yeah, not to mention that some of us like to go away for a weekend and wouldn't mind having a Sunday or two without a game on.

I understand that, I can't stand home night games in December and every time we have them we suck('03, '05).
