Yea, but just think... He'll be their coach this time and, as supersonic stated already, Herm's teams never really get off to a good start. And it'll be a simple gameplan to defend them. Just throw some wrinkles at them and they'll be completely confused. Plus, we'll get at least 2 turnovers on the Center/QB exchange alone!!!
You're right about the Skins, it's better to play them as late as possible although the Jets without injuries have the better team. I don't think it will be the Eagles week one though. I have a feeling the Jets are going to do well against the NFC (East) this year. In years past they have always flopped against the NFC East.....
is Donovan gonna be ready to play opening day this year? im guessing he is but if not that would be a good game to have.
I think he wont be ready for the opener but we will see. If that is the case I would like to open with the Eagles. If not KC at Jets would make for a great opener. Anyone been to buffalo before? I was looking on jetblue and flights from boston to buffalo are 90 rt with taxes. If they play there before week 6 I will probably go.
No Raiders this year. Raiders didnt finish 2nd in their division like we did nor do we get the AFC West again. We will play them however next year.
Not sure if that means preseason as well (didn't read the thread just the first post), but COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! preseason game at Seattle!
Highly unlikely. The Jets always play the Eagles and Giants. The other two opponents are usually teams who play east of the Mississippi River, such as the Ravens, Falcons, Buccaneers, Redskins. The furthest I recall the Jets going, aside from the Japan game, was to New Orleans. I don't keep track of preseason games, however, so cannot say with certainty whether or not they ever played a preseason game on the west coast.
From what I've heard, teams make pre-season arrangements among themselves for the most part. The Jets and Eagles signed some kind of contract to play a pre-season game rotating home and away each year. Naturally, this is based on convinence i.e. short travel. Same with the Giants. Teams on the east coast in the past 10 years have done this sort of thing to reduce wear and tear and jet lag during the pre-season. I know NE and the Skins have something going every year. This preseason, the Jets will play their first two games at home, probably amongst teams like the Ravens, Skins, Saints, Bucs or Colts and 'travel' to the Giants and Eagles. Parcells actually started this routine for the Jets and they have kept it ever since except when the NFL asked them to go to Japan in 2003. The last time the Jets traveled to the west coast for a pre-season game was 1996 when they played in Oakland (Keyshawn's first NFL action and Kotite's last year)
Sorry yanks fan it's not going to happen - but it's best for the Jets it doesn't. The Jets will be in Seattle in 2008 for a regular season game though......
