If Pennington gets hurt early this season as he seems to do in every odd numbered year it will be the first time there is a younger QB, drafted to be the eventual starter, who is there to replace him. Big difference between having Vinny or Brooks and having Kellen Clemens available. Whether Clemens would be the answer or not is debatable at this point but he'd be a much more compelling question mark than we're used to seeing.
That's exactly the sort of random event that is precisely why this sort of thing happens. You can be very sure that every team that had their record drop dramatically had a long list of "accidental" causes, while every team that had their record improve dramatically had a long list of "real" causes that accounted for it. In fact, there are always real causes and accidental ones, and the data unequivocally show that the accidental ones are usually important ones. It's possible to take an ordinary die, choose a particular number, roll it, and have that number come up; it's just that the odds are against it. It's possible that the Jets will have a better record in 2007 than they did in 2006, but the odds are also against that.

But I will be in Miami on December 2nd visiting & staying with my Grandparents, while a friend of mine who lives in the area is taking me to the Jets/Fins game. My first road game as a Jets fan. Can't wait.
Last season I went to my first Jets away game at Dolphins Stadium. The one where it was absolutely pouring and that screen pass to Leon won the game in the end. Great place to see a game. The Dolphins fans, despite all their faults, are actually very friendly. I walked around tailgates before the game and most Dolphins fans were happy to talk football and share some beer. Plus the screens at the stadium are insane - I found myself watching them instead of the game a few times. Enjoy.
