Umm you realize that this is a list of "prospects", right? Not proven young players? Not even "breakout candidates" for 2012. This is how they introduced the list: Within the context of these criteria, I don't know how you can argue the Patriots players selected. Ridley actually did play more than 4 games in a row last year, and his stat line of 87 att, 441 yd, 5.1 avg was very respectable for a rookie RB in a RB-by-committee role. Mallett was a highly regarded prospect who will have the advantage of probably the best possible situation to develop and transition to the NFL before he starts. They specifically said that they were also focusing beyond 2012, and that Mallet will likely end up proving his worth for another team, not the Pats.
Ridley had a great rookie season playing behind a 1000 yard rusher and a 950 total yard player just a year before. Mallet is a prospect, list encompasses more than 2012. Agree on Royster looking good, but hes not the first RB out of PSU. Larry Johnson had a few incredible seasons before being slowed by injuries and the police.
Kerley is getting ready to have himself a nice sophmore year in the slot...cant wait to see him hill and tone get the job done.
