Fair enough, but I feel that the awareness he showed for his 1st game as a CB was above average. Even though it was against 2nd team players, its the playmaking and standing out that makes me perk up. If a player goes unnoticed against backup players, then he should be a backup player. But if he dominates them, then he should be looked at even more. You're right in that one game means nothing. He could mess up big against the next 3 opponents and then we'd all over his ass for it. But, if he's consistent in reading the QB and making plays for the next 3 games. Start him at nickel 1st, if he continues to do well and lets say Miller is faulting, then I'd have no problem with Lowery as the #2.
I was very encouraged by his first game. He looked very comfortable and fluid and seemed to have very good coverage instincts. (In other words, the opposite of Justin Miller - who always looks utterly clueless and VERY UNCOMFORTABLE in coverage) Obviously, it's WAY too early to get any concrete feel for him. But a promising start, regardless.
+1 He could be starting about the half way point if not sooner if he continues this type of play. So far so good.
I'm watching the game now. He ran the kick back for a td. That kid is a definate keeper. Good eye for the holes, excellent speed. yea I know, preseason.
