Im pretty sure Levi Brown made the Probowl at RT before he switched, that would probably be this teams best option.

Slauson isn't going anywhere, he's been improving every game he plays.

Moore is on the other side of 30.

We didn't let Cotchery go, he wanted out, he saw the handwriting on the wall with Holmes.

Disagree. One DUI is a mistake. Two DUIs is not. And if I remember correctly, those weren't his only transgressions. For how many players got drunk on a regular basis at ND, they sure were able to keep out of trouble a lot better than Floyd has (except for all the rape issues in the past of course).

I know that's why I said Cotchery's departure. He left on his own though I think he left feeling he went behind the shitty Mason for 4th on the depth chart.

I like Slauson too and didn't get why people wanted to replace him. Moore has 2 more good years left, G isn't that big of a need to go round 1. Would not be mad at the pick since no fan could get mad when a team goes out and tries to protect the QB with a lineman. Just think WR, OT and OLB will be bigger needs come round 1.

I don't think Tanny will draft a guard in Rd 1, but he probably shouldn't pass on DeCastro's ability. IMO, he's the safest pick in rd 1.

Upshaw, Mercilus, Jeffery & Floyd have to be the leaders that should be available.

I definitely don't want to go with a G early. I'm also a Slauson fan, and Moore's very solid. I know I say I don't like drafting on need, but I never really think of a G as the BPA anyway. That seems to be to ALWAYS be a need pick. Maybe I'm wrong on this, but I feel like if you're a great OL, 9 times out of 10, you end up as either a center or a tackle for various reasons. Guard's where you go when they just need to stick the fat guy somewhere. I know that's not really the case, but it just seems like it sometimes.

He's had some big mistakes in the past and I would not put it against him to find a way to mess up but he was committed big time this year in ND, so much that he moved in with Freshman in dorms to stay out of trouble.

There have been a few instances with these DUI cases under Weis and it shows Weis could not control these guys. Tommy Kelly on the other hand took Floyd's captaincy away and lit a fire up his ass after this 2nd one. I contribute that to coaching. Weis was a player's coach, Kelly is the direct opposite. Now, Rex Ryan is a player's coach which is a bit alarming of a fit but besides Edwards, the Jets have been good when it comes to their players and legal troubles.

Mark Sanchez had some rape allegations at USC and has been on the side of making suspect decisions as a pro with the ladies and their age. It happens, these guys are foolish and its how football players go.

Hahaha I got your point here, but I couldn't help but laugh when you said Tommy Kelly. You must really just have DUI on the mind haha.

I honestly don't remember any issues with DUIs under Weis, but I'm not questioning you. I just feel like I would have remembered that kind of stuff. Might have been a no-name or two, not ruling that out. Jury's out on Kelly. He seems like a hard-ass on some things, and not on others.

By the way, I hate to say it at the moment, because I love Rex Ryan, but his coaching is starting to feel A LOT like Weis's at ND. I was there for Weis's first two years, and every pep rally and every news conference was the cockiest thing I had ever heard (I still have my stupid "9-3 Isn't Good Enough" towel...apparently it should have been). However, with him, I just wanted him to shut up, because at least Rex has a personality and can be funny. Weis wasn't. The other big comparison other than the arrogance, and I think the worst thing about it, is that Weis felt like he could win by just putting a stellar offense on the field and neglecting defense entirely (in both its players and coaches). He sure put an awesome O out there, but the D was abominable. I feel like Rex is trying the other way around, no interest in the offense at all.

Brian Kelly LOL Too much in with the pros.

As for the DUI under Weis:
A home on Colfax Avenue was surrounded by police cars early Sunday, and 37 arrests were made for underage drinking. Most of those arrested were University of Notre Dame students, including two football players.WSBT News has confirmed Notre Dame football players Will Yeatman and Mike Golic, Jr. were among those arrested. Yeatman was previously suspended from the Notre Dame football and lacrosse teams in February 2008 after a DUI arrest. Golic, Jr. is the son of former Notre Dame player Mike Golic, the ESPN Radio Host and star of Mike and Mike in the morning.

Weis is a great QB coach, Brady/Quinn/Clausen/Cassell all excelled under him. The guy cannot develop a running game to save his damn life and this is from his Patriot days(Jamal Charles might have been the lone case for him last season) and while he can recruit well, he is too iffy of a playcaller. Too conservative and its annoying when its the fact he has no running game. Crist and Weis might find something in 2013 but boy the Jayhawk fans are gonna get sick of his playcalling.

If you're right (and I hope you are that Holmes is a goner), then I hope the pick will be Wright, even though I know nothing about him except that he's supposedly speedy. I know enough about Jeffery and Floyd to know that they aren't very fast. Both are very good receivers and tall, but the Jets need speed.

That said, I still believe that OLB is the biggest need. The thing that consistently bites the Jets' D (and the team) in the butt is that they have no consistent pressure on opposing QBs and have little speed. I like you idea of Mercilius. It's a deep draft for WR, I'd rather they wait until the 2nd or 3rd rounds. They HAVE to address OLB with Thomas probably done and Pace probably done after next season.
