The team as a whole does not play sound football. That's the bottom line. Offense: 1. The run game as a whole has imploded. That is the crux of the offense problem. As Sanchez did not have the safety net he enjoyed in the past two seasons, he was more or less left out there hanging high and dry. That his stats have all improved is a testament of the kid's work ethic and his will to improve, if you consider his surroundings. 2. OL blocking, whether it is pass blocking or run blocking, regressed a lot. It was literally painful to watch the train wreck that is Wayne Hunter. He was equally atrocious in run and pass game - just what the fuck, man. What the fuck. 3. No deep threat - this was evident. Tone is not #1. I am sure Edwards could take double team (as evidenced by TD reception against the Patriots) but not Holmes. Jets released wrong receiver. Die in fire, Tannenbaum. 4. All in all, extremely sloppy execution all around. Dropped balls, fumbles, missed assignment up front which led to sacks and hurried throws etc. I usually say "It's execution" as a joke to poke at SDF, but for this season, it really was the execution that was the problem. The entire offensive staff needs to be canned for that - just where the fuck was accountability, people? 5. Idiotic designs, lack of imagination, getting cute - STUPIDITY in shorter terms. That is the problem with Schottenheimer. Since he is canned, I will stop. Defense 1. Lack of physical presence up front. This problem has been festering for years since Jenkins went down. JUST WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING, REX???? 2. Lack of discipline all around the defense. Lack of focus. Stupid penalties, missed assignments and tackles, blown coverages. This is not a typical Rex Ryan defense that we all have come to know and love. This needs fixing as soon as possible. 3. Lack of speed in general. TANNENBAUM. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS, DUMB FUCK. 4. Aging roster. And there is no viable replacement on the roster. THIS ONE IS ON YOU TOO, TANNENBAUM. YOU FUCKHEAD. ------------------------------------------------------ All in all, this is a team in disarray, with lack of talent in key spots and not enough replacements and rotational bodies. It will take some time to restock the depleted squad.
