I'm talking about the ground game that ranked 6th in the NFL in rushing last year and is featuring an offensive line returning 4/5 starters and added one of the fastest backs in the NFL. Are you seriously going to value 1 half of a preseason game more than 16 regular season games?
Our running game looked like horse shit last preseason and we finished the year 6th in rush O. With CJ2k and our WRs able to spread the field a little more I think we are in the top 10 again.
Are you talking about second stringers struggled to open holes against second stringers? This would be relevant how? You're expecting to see second stringers play that game? You're also expecting that there will be no game planning for that game while we're at it. Not running well is as relevant in preseason as it would be that we run for 200 yards tonight
Hopefully Holmes will get hit and toss the ball to us so we can run it back for 6. Fuck Holmes. I think it's far from a lock he even makes the Bears roster.
You're not bumping a slot WR at the LOS. The line up off the LOS specifically to avoid that. Also, the next WR Wilson bumps at the LOS will be the first.
The running is the one component of the offense that takes the most time get going. We will start off slow and by the 2nd quarter of the season we will get it in gear and finish the season as one of the better rushing teams in the league. We go through this almost every year.
Last year was last year...I'm talking about this year. I'm also talking about the 1st string Oline for the Jets not being able to open holes or give their QB time to throw against the 2nd string Dline for the Colts. Preseason or not, if the Oline doesn't play better than they did against the Colts, the offense won't be any better than last year (running or passing).
The Lions went 4-0 in the preseason in 2008, and went on to lose all 16 regular season games. Analyze it all you want, it means absolutely nothing. I also don't understand "Last year was last year". When you have continuity, you can expect some carryover. You can't just say "The Broncos offense was good last year but that was last year!!" They still have Peyton Manning and most of the same weapons so you can expect them to be good. We have continuity on the line and added Chris Johnson to Ivory and Powell so you can expect the running game to be good.
Outstanding news. May he do what he does best: smoke a little, whine a little, and cause division in the locker room. Couldn't happen to a better team. Bravo Bluntonio.
Holmes will do well on any team where he's not the #1 receiver on the club. He's a complimentary receiver. He'll thrive in Chicago.
Trestman says that people can change. Which is true but does this apply to Tone. If things don't go his way he has a natural sounding board in the WR crew of the Bears. And he is an experienced griper. The Bears Qb is not diplomatic and not the kind of guy who will incorporate a compainer into the offense. I still remember the play Tone got injured in the 49ers game. He didn't even try to tackle the guy he just went down like a sack of potatoes.
GOOD CALL!!!! http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-santonio-holmes-waived-20141111-story.html
Barcs, lost that argument badly. Zero production master, thug life in the huddle and on the sideline; tone time baby! Only player I have ever seen throw the football to the other team. Worst resigning of the Tanny era, directly responsible for losing Revis. Lousy leader, upfront money, pinned captain for nothing, all money tied up on that loser, nothing to move around for Revis (fuck Revis).
