and this is why new posters get such hard times, because there appears to be a correlatiopn between low post counts and completely asinine posts. no, the commissioner should be very involved in the off field behavior of the players since player news is NFL news, and player perception is NFL perception, thus player behavior equals NFL player behavior and if you want to play in the NFL you will agree to behave in the manner they determine is appropriate for the perception of the league.
Since I have been bored out of my skull tonight and none of you have been entertaining me, and since this whole non-story is dead, I thought I would do some futile research into the 'why' of that announcement you hear at the beginning of your airplane ride. Some of the stuff I found was pretty interesting. "FAA regulations prohibit the use of portable electronic devices during takeoff and landing"
If the NFL was made up entirely of ex-cons but you still got the same product on the field 99% of NFL fans wouldn't give a shit, they just want to watch football. I don't know anybody who thinks less of the NFL when a player gets in trouble with the law.
Too bad Holmes had the misfortune of having a female flight attendant. Every freaking flight I am on has gay ones....... What happened to all the good looking women that went into that field. I am tired of having Doogy Houser's boyfriend say "welcome aboard flight ..... " enough I say. A gay flight attendant would have whooped his ass and not reported it.
One of the times I went to Saudi when I was in the service, they had contracted some generic airline to get us to Germany before the big uglies took us the rest of the way over the sandbox. On that first flight, there was a gay flight attendant wearing more makeup than a clown. It was freaky. He looked like he had drawn his eyebrows on with a paintbrush.
Perception of the NFL by who? How many people are going to stop watching football because Holmes didn't turn off his ipod? When it comes to asinine, people like you take the cake. Why don't you move to Iran where you can find more of your ilk to enforce your moral code.
Actually, I think JetBlue's exactly right on this. No-one on here's going to stop watching football because Holmes is a bit of a wally, but Goodell's job is to sell the NFL to new audiences and crucially, advertisers. Stories about players misbehaving and generally being wankers to varying degrees will make advertisers less inclined to want their products associated with them, and by extension the NFL; likewise, the same perception of the players will make TV companies in other countries less inclined to pick it up because the advertisers won't want the airtime, hence you lose out on new audiences and new revenue streams.
identifying your clear lack of ability to formulate an argument without sounding like an irrational 13 year old with her first cramps and panties full of bloody womanhood, as this post only further exemplifies, has nothing to do with anyone else's moral code. how about this, if you are so bothered by how the league is run, stop watching and supporting the league. put your money where your mouth is as you want challenge others to do. or formulate an argument where you claim the NFL doesn't have a vested interest in how it's league and players are perceived. you can't, partially because there isn't an argument to be made, and partly because you clearly don't have the capability to do so.
Hahaha a queer clown, puts a new spin on Bozo......... A new horror flick: Queer Killer Clowns From Outer Space............ My buddy had a hilarious experience with a gay flight attendant 6 months ago. He asked a first class attendant for Vodka because the coach's FA said they supposedly ran out. I never heard of that. Not a good thing to piss off a gay flight attendant......... I was just dying when the guy said" Sir quit causing a ruckus you are drunk and unruly". He was just a little loud but very courteous and had just one of those little Vodka things, he definitely was not drunk...... I was so busy laughing I didnt even stop to think this incident could have been reported just the same as the Santonio one.
ughhh... you can take the player out of the hood but you cant take the hood out the player *shakes head*
It's no wonder we got him for a 5th rounder. I wish this guy would wake up and see that the opportunity to make loads of money and help a good team win a superbowl is right in front of him. It's so sad that he disregards the law just cause his ego has exploded. Whether this incident was small its santonio holmes a player who is on the brink of being suspended for a long time if roger goodell sees bad publicity. You would think he would just turn his ipod off.Jeez!!!
He's arrogant, ignorant, stupid, or all of the above. That's the only explanation for his behavior given his recent history. People want to forget about it and say it's nothing because he was never taken off the plane. I don't give a fuck. Unless i'm misunderstanding the newest report saying he wasn't taken off the plane, the police were still summoned. The guy is a dunce. I hope he makes plays for us this year, but I doubt he'll be around for long.
I really don't know if i wanna believe he will change. I mean the Rooney's were so fed up with the guy so they basically gave him away for nothing. I hope he doesn't throw all his potential away. He's just another guy with a lot of money and fame and thinks he can do whatever he wants with it. Whether the report is true or is missing some details the main point is he was taken off a plane for giving plane's personell a hard time OVER AN IPOD..its so lame, but this is what happens. Hope this move pays off for us in the ned
I'm not convinced they would have done had he been the only one, though; they needed to make an example of someone while they had all the shit going on with Not-So-Gentle Ben, and Holmes was the easy choice.
I've got to have faith that this was all one big misunderstanding. Wishful thinking? Everything Rex has said about Holmes' work at the facility has been positive.
