Well if he's gonna self-destruct I'd rather he do it now. Last thing we need is Hard Knocks turning into a "COPS" episode. Or worse a suspension in the middle of a playoff push.

I wonder how his contract's written as far as "fuck-up" clauses...

Getting escorted off a plane isn't grounds for suspension..I sure hope not atleast.. This kid is a bigger idiot than I realized...Rex better chew his ass out...and he better straighten out and fly right..you think he would be worried about his career being over but apparently not.

It shouldn't be. But if he does continues to do stupid things he'll have Goodell come down on him hard to make an example out of him, even if those things aren't inherently awful (like having a handful of parking tickets).

hopefully it's not serious but that is the danger of getting rid of high character guys for low character guys.

Recent Jet fundraiser, friend of mine knows someone who went to it who basically said that Holmes wasn't exactly a nice guy at this event. Said Devito was great.

Here’s the rest of the story:

Holmes was reportedly escorted off of an airplane at Pittsburgh International Airport Thursday night for being a disruptive passenger. It happened around 9 p.m.

Holmes was apparently told he had to turn off his iPod, but he refused – at which time he was removed from the flight.

After he spoke with officials, he said he understood and was allowed back on the plane.

The weirdest thing about this is that every time you see or hear Santonio in the media, he comes off as a great guy. Always smiling and polite. He doesn't come off as a punk or a thug in the least bit. He's a little bit over the top with his on-field celebrations, but that's about it. Then you hear about all this trouble he gets into.

"Earlier in the night, the following tweet was posted to Homes' Twitter account: "Only guy on the plane headed to Pitt from NJ, wearing my green n white. GO JETS!"

    At least he's a loyal screw-up...

And so it begins... Does anyone here really think Holmes is gonna morph into some fine, upstanding adult type person just because he's playing for Rex2.0? Don't bet the kid's college funding on it. Before this season is over, he's gonna do something really stupid and get his ass in trouble again. The only question will be just how hard will Goddell be on him. It will be a miracle if he survives the season even if its only 12 games in his case.

This is really sad, honestly. Here's a guy who was given a second chance, and repeated the words "take responsibility" over and over. I don't know why some guys can't just keep a low profile. Like, consider keeping a low profile and staying out of trouble part of your job description for which you get paid tens of millions of dollars. I hope this is a huge misunderstanding, but there's a reason why we got the guy almost for free. On the upside, as I just said, he was almost free.

At the end of the day, I don't think this will result in any consequences from the league as the infraction is really quite minor. What's become painfully obvious though, is that this guy is just never going to get it. He doesn't understand he needs to be on his best behavior. He doesn't understand that he's not entitled or above the law. If he did, this would have never happened. It's only a matter of time before he's out of the league and/or in prison IMO.

    dunce.

this was my very first thought when i read this.

hopefully people can shed light on the situation.

i doubt this type of thing warrants a further suspension though. maybe a fine

If he keeps at this, it's going to be a pretty easy choice next year between Edwards and Holmes.

This is what I posted in the other thread. So either it was that he was playing his iPod too loud, was asked to turn it down, then was allowed back on the plane (no big deal at all) or he was getting shit from otherwise "classy" Pittsburgh fans and just gave them shit back.

But of course there is a contingent on this board just waiting to villify the guy. It's unreal. The guy is a Jet people. How about showing a little friggin' loyalty to our players.
