The franchise tag could be used on one of them...

Nevermind that. How much production have we ever got from first, second, or third round picks in the first month of the season?

Hell, Greene only became productive towards the end of the season/playoffs. That's when we're going to need Holmes the most anyway.

I don't understand this thought. If our receiving corps does extremely well this season, why break it apart at the end of the season?

I can see us extending Holmes as he will be the cheaper option. If Braylon has a great season i could see FT being used again but that is likely to end in much dummy spitting!

Ellis/Faneca and Woody at least two of those come off the cap for next year as their hit is exhorbitant. Edit..Ellis is a fa but Thomas is 3.7 to cap next year........

In tanny we trust.. simple as!!!

Like I said only a few pages back, his lawyer has evidence that proves it wasn't him. He will be exonerated. It will be a non-issue. Besides, do you really think the Jets would pick him up if there was even the slightest chance he could be suspended for the entire season?? Common!

I can't post the links because I don't have 50 posts yet, but all you have to do is google "audio evidence, santonio holmes" and you will find plenty to read to validate this.

Don't you think the franchise tag would be better used on Harris or Mangold if the NFL actually has a franchise tag?

The Edwards vs. Holmes debate is a tough one.. Holmes is clearly the more risky guy to sign long term. He's 1 slip up away from a year long ban. The last thing we need is him going all Ricky Williams on us after signing a long term deal.

I still don't understand why people assume we can't have both.

It's possible but only if the NFL gets rid of the salary cap for good.

    +1.

So awesome. I was thinking that same thing. I'd forgotten about that awesomeness: "HOW WILL THE JETS STOP THE GIANT MEN OF CALIFORNIA!"

Because we have so many players coming up for new deals in the next year or 2. Having a #3 receiver making 4-5 million dollars is a luxury they might not be able to afford.. Not saying they can't have them all for a few years, but it just might not be feasible.

Holmes, Edwards, Mangold, D'Brickashaw, Harris, Revis, Cromartie all poised to get big deals, maybe even Shonn Greene sooner rather than later. If anybody can get it done though and sign everyone, it's Tanny.
