O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum... How fitting that Tannenbaum is German for Christmas tree because today feels a lot like Christmas.
I will play "A moment like this by Kelly Clarkson" when the Jets win the Super Bowl. The song fits the Jets in every single way, this Santonio trade is beautiful, right now life is beautiful
this is great. now i want to see those extended contracts signed by Dbrick, Revis and Mangold. Sanchize better improve his accuracy or this trade is moot. If it's true that he's an FA after 2010, seems that either Holmes or Edwards won't be on the team next year.
Low risk as far as what we gave up but we are adding alot of bad guys in the locker room. I hope this doesn't come back to bite us. Much like Cromartie talent wise this is a no brainer but winning is about more than just talent.
So now we have the following players with expiring contracts after 2010: Harris Mangold Leon Braylon Santonio Cromartie
Yeah, it's confirmed. 2010 5th round pick for Holmes. I was very high on Holmes this year for fantasy football. He didn't live up to my expectations, however, Holmes will have a breakout season very soon. I wouldn't expect much this season production wise, but next season (hopefully no lockout) he should be among league leaders in catches.
On an off topic jest, we have completely shaken up the draft boards of the pats, phins, and bills. instead of drafting d-line and lb's to stop our #1 rushing attack, they are all scrambling to draft the next 3 revis's to try and stop our passing attack!!!!! good luck with that!!!!!
This seems to be our draft pick position at the moment - picks in rounds 1, 2, 4, 6 and 7. Round 1: 29. New York Jets Round 2: 29. New York Jets Round 3: No pick (28. Cleveland - from New York Jets (Jets-Cleveland: Braylon Edwards)) Round 4: 26. New York Jets - from Arizona (Arizona-Jets: Kerry Rhodes) (29. Seattle - from Philadelphia via New York Jets (Jets-Philadelphia: Lito Sheppard)) Round 5: No pick 24. Pittsburgh - from New York Jets via Philadelphia (Jets-Steelers: Santonio Holmes) 29. Cleveland - from New York Jets (Jets-Cleveland: Braylon Edwards) Round 6: 29. New York Jets Round 7: 29 New York Jets
This acquisition is a steal!!!! Character issues??? The guy allegedly threw a glass at a woman in a night club. I guarantee you most of us have done worst. This guy was a superbowl hero. There are a lot of hypcrites in this world. Outstanding move, hopefully our team stays healthy. The playoffs are a lock, now we need to push further toward a championship.
The guy has more isseus than just that, he's a complete jerk. He's our jerk now and we'll root for him but let's not act like he is this great guy that had one isolated incident.
Wow now isn't this something to wake up to! Did we just get a former super bowl mvp for a 5th round pick? God damn, all Sanchez has to do now on offense is not screw up.
i love this from a talent perspective but idk how well this is gonna end up working out. we now have 3 starting caliber guys for sanchez to throw to on the outside which is great but his whole nightclub situation rubs me the wrong way. if he can keep himself out of trouble this move is money in the bank.
From PFT: Leon Washington can be part of trade package only after signing his tender Posted by Mike Florio on April 12, 2010 12:50 AM ET There are rumors flying in the wake of the trade that sent receiver Santonio Holmes from the Steelers to the Jets that the compensation package includes both a fifth-round draft pick and running back Leon Washington. Though we're not yet prepared to declare with 100 percent certainty that this rumor is off the mark, it's highly unlikely that Washington would be part of the deal. In order to be traded, Washington must first sign his restricted free agency tender offer. Given the apparent speed with which this deal transpired, it's unlikely that Washington inked the deal before the Steelers and the Jets worked out their trade. That said, it's possible that the Jets and Steelers have a wink-nod baseball-style "future considerations" arrangement, whereby Washington will be shipped to Pittsburgh at a later date. Possible, but not likely.
