I can tell by this post how pathetically biased your outlook on Sanchez is. The big uglies were getting beaten off the snap, it's not like Sanchez just stood there like a statue waiting for a blitz he couldn't detect. Early on he showed great escapability and avoided a ton of sacks from the right side as Hunter either got bitch-slapped in a 1 on 1 matchup or allowed his man to fly past him untouched. Teams sent extra men because of it because they knew Sanchez had no time to throw anything but quick routes and hot reads.

He didn't have that problem las season or the season before with a capable veteran blocking the right side. But I guess he just forgot how to read an obvious blitz over the 2011 offseason. Get off your high horse already. You don't know shit about a team you likely saw play three or four times this year.

I'm not blaming the big uglies for every sack that was allowed, just like I don't trumpet Sanchez' escapability every time some dope tries to blame the sack numbers solely on Sanchez. There were many factors, including a ridiculous offensive scheme and inconsistent play design.

Tell me, what part of this play was the fault of Sanchez?

    Or how about this one?

Stop talking out of your ass.

The idiocy of anyone suggesting a first round pick is anyone taking him in a trade would also be taking his overpriced contract, and what team would want that?

Given the contract, the Jets would be lucky to get a third round pick for him.

Sanchez contract calls for him to earn 11.25 million in 2012 I think and then 4.525 million in 2013. The cap hit would be the Jets, not the acquiring team since the prorated bonus numbers would hit the Jets cap at the moment the trade was made.

It's possible that escalators have increased Sanchez base salary for 2012 but in the original contract 2011 was the heaviest year in terms of cap space. 2.75 million of his 2012 compensation is in a option bonus on March 28th. I believe the Jets have to pick that up as well since the bonus will come forward at the moment a trade is finalized. The cap hit for the acquiring team would actually be 8.5 million for 2012 and then just 4.525 million in 2013. That's a great deal if they think they got their QB out of it.

How about taking into account Pennington's very pedestrian arm and the very pedestrian talent around him that made it into the playoffs in good part because of he's in game management of Shotty's system.

An arm that year that had trouble making throws outside of the hash marks and a running game featuring Kevin Barlow and a very mediocre OL.

And yet Schotty insisted on quick out routes, the kryptonite of the Noodle Arm. Of those 16 picks in 2009, I would wager that at least half of them occurred outside the hashes on an out that got jumped by a corner. When in the past 6 years can you argue that Schotty did a great (or even good) job of designing gameplans to his team's strengths?

I'm not defending Shotty, it was clearly time for him to go. I thought the 06 team completely outperformed their overall talent. That team had 4 and 12 written all over it based on the talent and the injury that Chad had.

The reality is without a running game and a pop gun at QB there are very few areas to throw the ball into that aren't tight windows. Blaming that on Shotty seems ludicrous at best. It was clear that Mangini and Shotty didn't want Chad to start that year but they had no other choice.

Rather than spout stats about Chad, Clemens, Favre and Sanchez to lay at Shotty's feet how about acknowledging that asking any OC to work with 4 different QB's over a period of 6 years with a revolving door of personal is really more about the front office than it is the OC.

The ball licking that Tannenbaum and Rex get and the pounching bag that Shotty is really over blown. I don't see Rex getting killed for the decline of our D since he's first year coaching with Mangini's club.

Hey man, I haven't spouted stats about the 4 QBs he's working unsuccessfully with, and you won't find me defending Tannenbaum for anything. I thought he should have been shown the door in the 2009 offseason. I have railed about them both. It's not just an either/or situation.

To the point of this thread, Sanchez's worth, if he's traded, is a pink slip for a General Manager that has fucked things up royally in order to help his Charlie Brown team owner sell PSLs.

i'm in agreement with you. granted schotty had 4 qbs over 6 years, but its not like they were changing ever year and he had to create new game plans. if he's even half way descent OC he should have know how to game plan to qb's strength instead of having the same game plan for each qb. the front office also made stupid personnel moves that puts in the crap hole we are in today...MT should've been let go along w/ mangini

He did game plan to our QB strenghts. Chad with no tools and a crap team got us to the playoffs. Favre had us in position to get a first round bye before his arm craped out.

We got to the AFC finals two years in a row and our D was destroyed in both of those games.

I hate a ton of stuff Shotty does. I also hate a ton of stuff our D does and the stupidity of dumping two safties with range two years in a row.

Don't get me wrong I want to see a running team that throws the ball down the field and less empty backfields. I'm not convinced we have the personal to do that and much of that falls on Tannenbaum who is highly over rated for his big off season signings.

If Sanchez fails Tannenbaum has to be gone. That's clear.

yes we were having a good season w/ favre until his arm gave out so i will schotty that. getting to the two afc finals, our off was avg at best, in the pitt game we put up an egg in the first half so clearly schotty's game plan was crap...and in lot of the wins last year, they were comebacks when they actually had to throw the ball.

schotty's like sanchez, both have shown signs of brilliance but make stupid ass decisions. w/ that said, i would take sanchez's arm over schotty's brain

Again the Jets have a huge investment in Sanchez. It's clear what they did this year wasn't working. It's time to take a new approach and that's why I fully support dumping Shotty. That doesn't mean Sanchez isn't a problem. We can only hope he develops with a different system.

With Schotty gone, and complaints about him still being here a thing of the past, and obviously of no relevance whatsoever any longer, it should be obvious even to his haters that the sole purpose of complaints about him now are to make those inclined to defend Sanchez feel better in their homeristic optimism for the coming season. It is the defense of Sanchez up until now slightly transformed in support of a view of Sanchez in the coming season in irrationally optimistic terms.

Since I believe Sanchez is probably not going anywhere for this coming season, we will find out soon enough how well he will do with another OC. I hope he does well, but also think the Jets need to get a vet Qb on the roster to at least back him up, but better yet would be to have a real Qb competition in camp.

Did Newton have the #1 ranked defense and the #3 ranked running game?

Newton would have won the Super Bowl with that Jets team.

again...people are cool w/ making excuses for other "elite" qbs and then when sanchez's accomplishments are presented, excuses can't be used...omg this is so stupid...beating a dead horse here...
