As a miami fan, I feel your pain. Our OC play calling has been MORBID nearly all year. It's hard to tell with these young QB's who's really at fault when the play calls are so mind blowingly bad. Tough loss today ya'll. I still think both could pan out, but it looks like we might both be looking for QB's in the near future....
Guys, he really does stink. I hate to say it. He has fallen so far over the past 7 games, I don't know if he can recover. Do you really expect a breakout performance against the Steelers or the Bears? Be realistic.
For all of you so called experts how does the Sanchez trade up look now when we could have had Freeman and probably a starter in the 2nd round we blew it this time.
With Shotenhieimer as our O.C. we could have god himself at QB and still lose. The kid isn't bad but he play-calling is horrific. Teams seem to know EVERY play we call before we call them. How can you be successful under those circumstances? :drunk:
I'm stating facts.... Mark Sanchez and Rick Mirer are two comparable QB's year two in career. Through 2 years Sanchez 53.5 completion % (his completion % is actually lower this year than last season) 28 TD's 31 INT's 5297 Pass yards 6.65 yards per attempt. Mirer 53.8 completion % 23 TD's 24 INT's 4988 5.7 yards per attempt Both QB's are similar in hight/body type, arm strength, athletic ability Both QB's were also drafted high.. Mirer 2nd overall, Sanchez 4th Both went to high profile colleges Mirer ND, Sanchez USC
If Holmes catches that td, and a few other catches are made... we aren't having this conversation. Yes, the jets as a team are horrible right now, but the talk of Sanchez being a bust is outrageous. Three weeks ago people couldn't be more excited to discuss the future of Sanchez... This a bad weather game No running game was ever established No blocking Dropped Passes For a 2nd year QB, in rainy conditions, with little to no help, throwing 1 int and a should-have-been TD isn't anything to cry about. This was a team failure, excluding the defense.
The only thing holding the offense back is the horrible QB... Sanchez is a bust... The quicker the Jets can admit it, the quicker we can rebuild
The whole offense was horrible. Sanchez didn't get hit in the helmet by a gimme TD. Sanchez played poorly, but he isn't the only problem, he's just the most visible one.
What was that spike the ball and the kill the clock play on first down during the last drive? What idiot called that play and why did the inept Jet QB not change the play? What freakin' moron decided to waste a high first round pick on a guy who has no arm, no accuracy, no awareness and had never played a game in bad weather prior to scamming his way into the pros? Yeah, Sanchez sucks pretty bad, but so have all the other losers the Jets have lined up under center. Is this earth shattering news?
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Before the Patriots game, Sanchez WON the team 3 games in a row. He's still learning fellas. Also, the Freeman guy you are calling for, his team has a worse record in a weaker conference. It's no secret, Sanchez is not passed the point where he can make mistakes and still win the game. However, if Santonio catches the pass in the end zone, are we having the same discussion or making fun of Henne for his WORSE performance?
Orton has sucked down the stretch for 3 straight years now. He had 3 INT's today. He's completed 39% of his last 72 passes. GTFO. How is it obvious Sanchez isn't good enough? HE WAS OUR QUARTERBACK IN THE AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME LAST SEASON! AND WE HAVE NINE WINS THIS YEAR! He's not a good NFL quarterback yet, but he's young and has less experience than most young QB's. You're not a realist, you're ridiculous.
