Cotchery too. Just like in the Wash pre season game, he threw to Keller while covered, ignoring Wide Open Wayne Hunter Last time for a First down, this time for a touchdown. Wide Open is now Wayne Hunters official nickname. These are the demands and sayings of Lee.
Did anyone notice if sanchez was locking on recievers or if he was going through his progressions. He had a great game, but im interested to know if the recievers were doing a good job getting open or if sanchez was looking off defenders and looking at his 2-3 options also.
Heh. Fyi I didn't take your betting advice, so I still have my ass. Seriously, can we agree that the CS has not ruined MS by making him too scared to throw down the field? Seems the reason in hindsight that the Jets lost game one is that MS and about three quarters of the team executed poorly. Yesterday they played well. That about covers it.
hah. I think it was pretty clear that was the case week 1. I never said it wasn't correctable, in fact I said a number of times it was very correctable. It seems as though they've fixed that issue. I do worry that they could fall into that same trap this week though facing a Mike Nolan defense. They probably learned their lesson, but the thought will be in the back of my head.
Glad to see your sense of humor is doing well! And yeah, I will be concerned about that trap, too. And while the fish O is not scary, it's at least arguable that they have a better pass D than the NE one. So there is that. But, don't be too conservative. A proper balance, as you did properly say last week. Yes.
The Fins pass D is definitely, without question, better than the Pats pass D. They've looked very strong on defense - the scheme looks a lot like ours as we could have predicted.
Does anyone else remember that article about how Sanchez had terrible stats throwing to his left last year and worked to fix it? All 3 TD's yesterday were to his left.
Well that and that Brian Schottenheimer decided not to have the offense give a ballet performance on every down before the snap. Seriously, I saw a huge difference in the way the game was called yesterday vs Monday night. The Jets were much more vertical in what they were trying to do, using the middle of the field to establish the game and then playing off from there. They ran between the tackles a lot more and they threw an actual screen pass during the game. They were assertive from the second quarter on and until they were milking the clock late in the 3rd they actually snapped the ball before the red countdown clock came on the screen. Monday night was all about the coaching, from the way things were planned and plays called to the way the players were prepared to actually play the game. Rex Ryan said he knew the Jets were going to be good based on what he saw in practice on Friday night. Ok, so he knows what the Jets look like when they're going well, what the hell happened all training camp and in the final practice before the Ravens game? A better way to put all of the above is that when one or two players play poorly that's on them most of the time. When the entire offense blows chunks that's squarely on Schotty, Ryan and the offensive coaching staff. That's what happened Monday night.
When that happens they should let Sanchez call his own plays for a couple series....more if he starts scoring.
Yeah I was screaming at the TV when that happened, but then felt like a jackass when Keller caught it.
Second time in a month he's passed him up for a covered receiver. But hey...he's like 7/11....Open 24/7...
John Madden: I love to see a fat guy score. Pat Summerall: Why? John Madden: Because first you get a fat guy spike, then you get the fat guy dance.
