    New to the sport..?

Nacho got the same $$$ in Philly, that Vick is getting here.

No, the GM screwed the organization, and the player.. 26 year old playoff winner > 4 mil backup than 34 year old felon.

    just sayin...

Sanchez is the better player. Fact.

And was to be the starter before injury.

further, Idzik sat on him until the teams looking for a starter filled those slots.

    and beat out Foles?

yeah...Drew Brees was not beating out a guy that tossed 27 tds, to 2 int's

thanks for answering the 'new to the sport question'

Vick in his worst days, is miles beyond Nacho. Please remove the goggles.

So Idzik conspired against Nacho? WOW! What a weak argument.

It is true that Nacho was part of a team that won 4 whopping playoff games. How does that make him greater than Vick?
Vick was a Pro bowl player. Nacho? Never, ever, never.

What does Vick's Felony have to do with Football? Nothing

Nacho wasn't guaranteed to start, are you kidding? It was an open competition in NY, why else did we spend a 2nd round pick if it wasn't. Get real. Geno was brought in, and took Nachos job. Plain and simple.

So I guess Nacho's career was held back by our current GM. Really? I've seen it all now. You have taken the whole Nacho fan hood way beyond anyone else.... Ever.

Put it this way, even if Foles struggles and puts up typical Nacho numbers, he will start, and Nacho will continue his job of riding pine. Just like his ability dictates.
Thanks for proving the "new to the sport" view of Nacho you have.

Is every Jets QB going to be compared to Sanchez til the end of time?

I hope not, because if so.... The comparisons will always be terrible.
Maybe that's it... Compared to Sanchez, if they suck at playing the position like he did.

The fundamental problem is that this franchise had, by its very meager standards, its best back to back seasons since Superbowl 3 with Sanchez at the helm. After that second AFC Championship game loss, it was just assumed he would be the Jet quarterback for the next 10 years. But, then the team around him fell apart and it became obvious that he wasn't the guy. As people look back and reminisce over past "glory," (Again, by this franchise's meager standards) his tenure here tends to become romanticized and there is a ton of revisionist history proliferated by Sanchez fanboys. It's similar to the way famous people's reputations improve markedly after they die. Sanchez gets the benefit of having existed in . . . "better times." Comparing Jets quarterbacks to him will not slow down until we have someone who we at LEAST get to a Superbowl with. Get Ready for a long and painful ride.

The truth lies somewhere between the fanboys and the haters. Sanchez did a teeny weeny bit more than just existed in the 6 road playoff games he played in, 4 of which we manage to win.

Winters Colon Giacomini is nowhere near as good as Slauson Moore Woody was in '10. And Dusty Keller was superior to Amaro or Cumberland. Cotchery over David Nelson easily, and Tony Richardson over Tommy Bohanon and it's not even close there.

Sanchez had a much better supporting cast imo.

Sanchez had a career in college the year he was drafted. Despite early success I think he tried to get by on talent. Geno I won't go into.

I agree 100% with your offensive comparison. Geno's stats last season wouldn't have been as bad ( I would almost guarantee ), if he was surrounded like Nacho was. Our current offensive line has an aged version of Brick and Mangold. Both of them were better then, and didn't we have Faneca in 09? Moore was better than the current Colon. Woody being at the end of his career, was still better than any combination of the right tackles we have had since. The Decker/Edwards comparison is even, maybe even favoring the former, and they are totally different types of receivers. It's too early to say if Kerly has any advantage over the #2 we had in 09-10. Hell I can't remember who it was. I thought Cotchery was our 3rd receiver those seasons. To me, the combo of Amaro/Cumberland is a tie bit better than Keller, who was an excellent pass catcher. I didn't hate schottenheimer, because he was very limited with Nacho's abilities, so it really limited his play calling.
Jones and Greene compared to Ivory and Johnson is close, and I'm sure that our current backs would have benefitted from our line of 09-10, even more so than Jones ( Johnson's role) and Greene ( Ivory's role ). I'm sure, most of all, that Geno would have had an entirely different rookie season than he had, with that supporting cast.
I'm not sure about his turnovers, but I am sure his positive production would have been much better. It would be easy to say that his yards, and TD's would have easily surpassed Nacho's in both 09 and 10. Geno's ability to run would have also added another element that Sancho didn't provide.
We may have beaten Indy, and Pittsburgh the following January if Geno and Nacho switch.
Geno isn't a wuss. Nacho displayed on many occasions that contact wasn't something that lit a competitive fire in him.
Impossible to prove, but easy to see.
Don't even get me started on defense comparisons!!! Lol

To say Nacho led us to 2 AFC championship games is a joke.
He was a part of the team and his position as a Qb put him in vital situations. Every now and then during the 2 playoff runs, he would make a play. But his portion of the responsibility pie, dictated that his level of entry into those situations is critical, but very very limited. In all due fairness, he was a rookie, his athleticism and his abilities as a QB were limited, and because of his propensity to turn the ball over, the offense wasn't remotely centered around him. His main job was to hand it off cleanly, sell the play action pass plays, and make the throws which were set up because of it. His reads were drastically reduced, in hopes of not turning the ball over, as was his pass attempts during the playoffs. His role, even though being the most important player on offense, was simplified and reduced, so to say he led us........ Is Fan boy talk only.

Here we go again. Deflect all you want want does not make Geno better. In fact at this point in his career he his worse. That does not mean he will not get better and it does not mean Mark will start again. Very bad comparison the biggest between the two is that MS led teams in his first two season to AFC championship games Geno is still trying to win game 2 in his second year. Let it all play out we will find out soon enough if Geno will even make through the season.

It should be interesting to see if the above remains true by season end.

I'm not going to talk too much about their on the field similarities. I think that Geno is a better player. Mark's success was only when the Jets ran the ground and pound and that's maybe something we should go back to. Like Mark he isn't ready to go to a pass first offense. Too many mistakes. But the true similarity is from the HC. The blind loyalty to a player who isn't doing well. Some people think he would prefer starting Vick but has to play Geno because of Idzik. Nobody knows if that's really true. But the Jets are supposed to be trying to win this year not develop a starting Qb. I'm not saying they should bench Geno. But it's something that shouldn't be taken off the table. I don't think he's been terrible. Neither has the team. Not terrible but not good enough to win games against good opponents.

He might be the better player (he might not be, too), but they are both awful and have no business being a starting QB on an NFL team.

Meh. Not really. Barring a Foles injury, Sanchez isn't getting off the bench in Philly, regardless of what the jets do with geno

I wasn't deflecting anything. The post was aimed at Nacho. Not Geno. Mark didn't lead us, he played his minor role to the best of his abilities. Not so well I might add, and to say he "Led" the team is a joke.
Geno is the better player, but his stats are just as terrible as Nacho's. Geno's ceiling is higher due to his athletic build, if nothing else. His arm is stronger I would almost guarantee. Put a radar gun on the two. I bet Geno's ball gets there faster. His accuracy is better, but by no means am I saying his accuracy is top shelf material. He runs better than Nacho too.
What's left? Neither one of them seem to have the position figured out, or seem to be able to "Lead" a team.
I'm not opposed to playing Vick for the sake of the team. I would start Vick tomorrow if it were me. I'm not a fan of the players on the team in certain positions. I want the team to win. I want the Jets in the playoffs, and winning a Super Bowl!

You guys think the offensive line has anything to do with Genos problems? Serious question
