wheres the debate henne has always sucked and sanchez has been good for the most part outside of that bad stretch last yr
Antonio Gates has more TD catches than Dustin Keller. Other than that, good points in that article. I like that Sanchez is pulling away from Henne. He obviously has more talent, and Dolphins fans that don't see that are blinded. I still think Henne will be a good QB, and still can definitely improve. Sanchez just has more upside, and is younger, with less experience.
He has a point though, Sanchez started off strong... had some problems; and has been superb since week 17 last year
Somebody pointed this out on another forum.....Hahahaha I love fin fans, they are so bitter, it is awesome: Henne is better than Sanchez.
Sanchez is not Pennington. Sanchez is better than Pennington and has way better mechanics and throws with his lower body. Pennington wishes he was Mark Sanchez.
it's hard to compare QBs based on physical attributes and stats, what really separates the competent from the great is: can they lead a team. Can they raise the play of everyone on offense, and maybe even defense? When the going gets tough, does he step to the fore or does he crack? Even last year when shit was going bad, it's what I've been most impressed with in Sanchez: he IS a leader. Likewise, it's been obvious since Henne was at Michigan, he is not a leader, he cannot put a team on his shoulders, he cannot be the center they all gravitate around. He is competent and has enough talent to play in this league, probably for ten years, but he is never going to be a great QB. Just for the record, Pennington is int he Henne category, in my opinion.
Wonder if any of the stat-junkies can dig up some out-of-the-pocket stats on the two. If you compared the two on the run it's not even close I'm guessing, but I'd love to see some hard numbers.
I think he was referring to both QB's comprehension of turnover-free football + consistent execution = W. I said it last season and the offseason as well. If Mark ever grasped that he just needs to throw to the open man, nothing else, we would be extremely successful, considering the makeup of the rest of our team. Pennington understood that very well during his tenure, and Mark is showing he gets it now, too. Physically, no, there isn't much of a comparison between the two. Mentally, yes, there is.
If Henne were playing the exact same way, but the Dolphins were winning the reports would be different. I don't put much weight on this sort of thing.
I was actually trying to figure out who Joe Mo was because I thought 'he can't be talking about Montana.' Sanchez has been good, better than I expected, but to think that he is in MVP considerations is a bit rich to me. He's a decent player, performing well in a good system. I do think the int streak comes to an end vs GB. He's been lucky with a couple and I think Woodson will pull one away from him.
