Merrill Hoge watched the coaches film and disagrees. There were open receivers down field and Sanchez was checking down too quickly.
I didn't see Hoge's shit but I could tell you he's right. From my seats we see everything and there was even 1 play where Braylon was all by himself and Mark didn't even look @ him.
I bet there were but the Jets never gave them a reason to worry about those guys. I was going off the one play where I could find a different camera angle than the broadcast angle. My main point that the Jets let the Ravens sit on the short routes all night stays the same. If I could see all the tape the Merill Hoge has I would be able to give a better opinion on what the issues were. I still feel confident in refuting the point that Schotty wasn't calling slants and hitches.
All this hype from MS and his offense, nothing is going to change, I have confidence that the running game will be better, but nothing will change with the pass.
Ngata gave Sanchez no time to throw, but that playcall alone is pure shit...i saw not enough slants, if any, no timing patterns...on the 3rd and 3 bomb to cotchery schitty had cotchery 30 yards down field, keller 15 yards down on a cross and then there was a back (i believe) in the flat. why not have a quick slant there or a comeback? the guy is lost
I'm glad Mark only said, "We're ready to have a breakout game." Thank God he didn't say, "We're going to have a breakout game," because then I'd be looking for an actual breakout game, just like I'm looking for us to actually be in the SB this year. I'm sure we can get there if we just get ready to have a breakout game. It'll happen somehow, I guess.
a fumble counts as a fumble wether you lose it or not. a turnover is just that. the jets fumbled twice statistically
the offense is the total opposite of the defense. the D is balls to the wall while the O is smitten like a kitten (pussies)
Ray Charles could see that gameplan wasnt working by Halftime...so why didn't they make changes for the 3rd Quarter? I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not so confident this offense can just "turn it on" like that. Our defense better hold the Pats to under 10 points.
This is what's most dissappointing. Seems like all the ballers are playing on the defensive side of the ball. If only there was someone who can step it up offensively. Offense played scared. Total opposite mentality of the defense.
If you ever played sports, you know that after a tough loss, the coach is going to work your ass off. Rex wants to the team to step up and get rid of the mental mistakes. I guarantee you that practice is much better tomorrow according to Rex.
Our offense looked like it was playing scared on Monday night. We got all these damn weapons on offense in the off season, lets use them!
I'd love to see a breakout game, although I'm not holding my breath. This team hasn't had a 300 yard passer in the regular season since 2006. Only one other team shares that distinction, and that's the Bills.
With what Rex wants, it'll take a total shootout for Sanchez to hit 300. The running game and TOP consumption that Rex demands from his offense will not allow Sanchez to hit 300 on any given Sunday. I'm cool with that. I want to see this kid hit 60% completion and average 190-220 yards a game. That means he's taking care of the football and being efficient. Just let the kid make plays and grow. He's going to lose a game by himself this season, its bound to happen. Its a part of football. But let him grow as a QB. If the CS fucks up his head/confidence and progression the fanbase will always see it as Sanchez being a bust and not this CS ruining a potentially very good QB.
Oh, I don't think he hits 300 at all this season. It's just a symbol of the way our passing game has gone over the past 3+ seasons. 30 teams in the league had one in the past 2 seasons. Only 2 teams are forced to go back 4 seasons. We're one of them. And for the record, his highest passing game last season was the opener, a game that was never in question.
