Well, we're likely at an impasse. You may believe what you will. All I know is that people close to the situation were absolutely baffled by what Carroll was saying and called him out, not for being undiplomatic, but for things like flat out lying about the beliefs and desires of the Sanchez family, etc. I can pull some statistics out of my ass, too, if it's going to help me out. LET THE KID LIVE!!!! i'm young myself and i know you gave me the money and fame he has, shit would be GOIN DOWN. if all hes gonna do is a photo shoot or 2 and get some good tail, more power to him. im pretty sure everyone thats concerned about him is just jealous anyway. not for nothin, but the kid is as poised as any young qb i have seen in a long time.

Nice. My brother in law was a 12 year NFL vet. Most down to earth person you'll ever meet. I know it won't change your mind on every NFL player being a "rich spoiled person", but most of the NFL players I've met have been great, humble people. That includes a lot of guys with the dollar signs to act otherwise. Their wives are occasionally rich, spoiled people, but even that is a lot more rare than you'd think. No one is making it personal. I don't care how you are in real life. I don't make judgments on you in real life. I respond to, and judge, your internet persona. That's it.
Anyone that knows more than you do about him is more qualified to give an opinion on him. Not much more, but definitely more. By the way, when you assume a Jets player is not going to be amazing you're not exactly going out on a limb so excuse us if we're not impressed by your powerful insight.
Anyone who tells you that they KNOW this kid will succeed is lying. Excitement about him is based on the way he's looked in his limited college experience. However, you've had many posts in which you've stated without equivocation that he WILL fail. You've backed off of that a bit now, which is great, but you can't blame people for criticizing you for writing him off entirely at the onset.
I don't have much of an opinion on him, but I think it's retarded to write him off and think he's going to be a bust based on a hunch. No one is building him up, they're just refuting your retarded statements. There's nothing logical about assuming he'll be a bust based on a hunch. When I do form a strong opinion it will be based on watching him play and not a hunch.
Wow Reading some of these posts is rather surprising, one would think that Mark was drafted to some backwoods franchise with country hicks as fans. Mark survived L.A. and the Hollywood media, and handled it beautifully....you cannot imagine the exposure and media hype USC players receive out here, it is the de facto NFL team in L.A., and everyone is a fan - you should see who shows up for our games. But, make no mistake, he is focused 100% on football. Better get used to the attention Mark is generating, because it is just beginning. The kid was not known as a big party boy, he still has the same girlfriend, and kept it low key in that aspect. So what, he's in a couple of photo shots, if he conducts himself in the same manner he did with us, you won't see him in the party circuit.
I love getting bashed by people. I am not a know it all but yes, I am very opinionated. I love whenl people tell me I know nothing and tell me I am not a jet fan because I don't follow the company line. I wish you and Mark nothing but the best.
