Opponents had to respect Manning, Sanchez has no credibility and will be tested right off the bat. I'm confident in Mark's ability to achieve your almost impossible
Manning knew every player on that offense intimately, ran the offense like an OC and knew his own limitations. Sanchez has proven without a doubt that he knows none of that. Manning, even injured to the point of detriment, was able to win a Super Bowl. Manning at his worst was better than Sanchez at his best.
Exactly. At the very least, Peyton was going to get the offense into the correct play vs. whatever front he faced. The prime time game against I believe San Diego comes to mind. The Broncos won the second half because Manning kept getting the offense into the correct run play to gash the defense and lead I believe 2 or maybe 3 scoring drives immediately because of it despite so-so passing numbers.
Broncos literally were close to last in almost every qb category last season. They won because of defense had nothing to do with manning. Sanchez isn't even gunna win the starting job in Denver anyway.
http://www.espn.com/nfl/playbyplay?gameId=400791687 The Broncos were down 13-7 before Manning came in and then they went on a 20-7 run while Manning was only 5/9 passing for 69 yards. If you remember watching that game at all, you'll remember all the checks he made at the line, putting them into the correct plays to the weak side of the defense each time and they dominated the rest of the game. That's no coincidence. I remember the sideline reporter relaying information upstairs to the booth that Kubiak was unhappy with the audibles Osweiler was making at the line and he missed a couple of checks. Peyton turned into a game manager with weakened velocity on his throws due to the myriad of injuries, but he still remained the smartest player on the field at all times.
Mark Sanchez would have come in and lit it up, right? You are taking game stats without context and I'm sure you're mentally comparing them to another game and thinking you're correct while not taking matchups our player personnel into account. If Manning had the offensive line Sanchez had for his unlikely playoff runs, I'm sure the results would be the same.
Normally I don't ignore posters, but I'm not looking at that turd that TNJet posted again. And since he isn't worth reading anyway, I don't feel bad about it.
Omfg who gives a shit about Mark Sanchez....Why bother breathing life into this former Jets turd.We wasted a top pick on him and traded up to do so.He was the real reason MrT got fired not Tebow.
You're taking what I said out of context. What Sanchez would or wouldn't have done is pointless speculation. What matters is that Manning had a bad SB and the defense won it for him.
What Peyton did was not have a bone-headed pick 6 or fumble that changed the course of that game. Plus had the leadership to have an entire team rally behind him to win a game. People have been just looking at stats and think Peyton is easily replaceable. I disagree. So much so, that I am 99% sure Osweiler does not get past the Pats or Panthers.
