I never said that Tim is better than Mark. And the 4 playoff wins which you guys talk about ad infimitum he gets way too much credit for (by the way if Tim is so bad didn't he also lead a team to the playoffs who won one playoff game-he's 1-1 in playoff games). In 2012 Mark again got every chance to show the world how bad he was. But Tim ddidn't get that opportunity because of Rex. In retrospect do you still believe that in 2012 Mark gave the Jets their best chance to win. If you had the power would you go back and change it. I would. The results couldn't be worse. And if you say NO you're willing to accept those results just to stay with Mark (and lose).
I have I was making the point that from managing this business, knowing that Sanchez would play for 4-5 mil once cut, It was irresponsible to not try to save the huge investment in Draftpicks and cash, that was already invested, just because he was not tied to the choice. at the same price, sanchez > vick. Period.
Mark needed a change of scenery. The Jets needed to move on from a disappointing end to a once promising run. It was time to move on for both parties.

I dislike Adam Schein that weasel...But I agree with him on this article and I miss his take on SNY postgames...Dude kept the bashing real.
Fuck Adam Schien, he is a notorious Sanchez hater. The guy wanted him gone so badly, he also said that Geno would be so much better than him. How did that workout Adam? You moron who picked the Texans and Falcons to reach the Super Bowl last season?....... How does he have any credibility?
Thats media generated bullshit. Football is the most violent game on the planet. Soldiers don't need a 'change of scenery' even repeating such a phrase mandates testing for TRT
Nonsense. Players need changes of scenery all the time in professional sports. I know you are angry that your hero got cut. I understand. I recommend you go root for Philly.
Sanchez is OK... average at best, has short streaks where he plays slightly above average. Better as a back up.
OK so here are Mark's 2009 rookie year stats: Mark had a 53.8 completion percentage (196-364-2444) and had 12 TD passes and 20 picks for a QBR of 31.5 and a 63 rating. Tebow in 2011 (his second season but only year as a starter) had a 46.5 completion percentage (126-271-1729) and had 12 TD passes and 6 picks for a QBR of 29.2 and a 72.9 rating. The big difference was in yards rushed: Mark had 106 and Tim had 660. So tell me again that Tim who only started one season had a winning record plus won a playoff game should have had no role with the Jets. (He did have a role he played special teams. And according to Westoff played well and gave him a great effort. How many Qbs play special teams) And when Mark crashed shouldn't have been at least given a chance to play. This is why Rex should have been fired.
Look if Mark does well in Philly he deserves all of the credit. No excuses that it was because of the "genius" Chip Kelly and his system. But on the other hand if he flops it's on Mark. No alibis this time. I agree with the beginning part of what Schein said (no one "ruined" Mark) but like you say he's a dumbass.
slimjasi, a couple pages back you were talking about sanchez should have been benched. i completely agree with you. sanchez may just may have come out of that terrible funk to be a serviceable qb had he been benched. for the good of the team... whether the guy behind him was better or not is not the issue here its the effect benching him may have had on him and on the team as a whole. i couldnt agree with you more, and i agree he should have been benched multiple times before then. it may have helped him to become a decent qb. thats on rex and it was one of the most frustrating things to listen to him say he gives us the best chance to win every fucking week. as if the guy was coaching week to week with no sight beyond that. i told a friend of mine who is a philadelphia feagles fan to just wait. i didnt see him play so i cant really critique him too much but his team won despite him throwing 2 ints. he definitely has a pretty decent team there and a guy who has been great with qbs. so hopefully after his middling performance this time around we can put it all to rest. even though its already been put to rest when he was let go this past offseason. which i am still happy as a pig in shit about.
He did a nice job in a weak division, he was nowhere near Sanchez. Maybe we should have played him though? w/ no talent around the QB Tim would have been more entertaining but we wouldn't have won games. Tim refused to be a TE/H-back type of player. if he didn't refuse that he'd still be in the league helping a team. He has talent but throwing a football is not one of them. Cumulative stats tell us part of the story. Mark was good the majority of his rookie year but had 3-4 awful games which skewed the overall #s. I think the 2 can be summed up by the NEW playoff games. Mark led his team to an upset over a better Pats team in the div rd in 2010 and Tim led his team to a destruction in 2011.
