[QUOTE="nyjunc, post: 3115821, member: 34" clearly one of the INTs was not his fault, we don't know on the other one as it appeared to be a miscommunication btw him and his WR. who was in the wrong? don't know and the WR also appeared to be held as well. Mark played GREAT yesterday and you still bash b/c you know you have been wrong all along.[/QUOTE] Excuse, excuse, excuse, excuse. Yes one pick wasn't his fault, but every QB gets them and every QB has passes that should be intercepted but weren't, it balances out in the long term. Junc, if you watched the game you know the Texans have a horrible pass defense that gives up 67% completion rate, bottom 5 in TD's allowed passing, bottom 5 in yards per game, etc. AND they were missing both of their starting corners after the first quarter.... And what did the Eagles do that I've always said has to happen for Sanchez to be successful? They ran the ball, to the tune of 190 yards. when your defense starts of with a laundry list of excuses laying blame on everyone but Sanchez you know you have a bad argument... Dog ate the homework excuses, it's all I hear from you Junc.
Ravens had some big hits to start the game yesterday. Big Ben isn't the only QB that doesn't get rattled under initial pressure. If the Panthers get to Mark early in the game - he's going to rattle quick.
Phillip Rivers sure looked rattled against Miami's pressure completing 52% of his passes for 138 yards and 3 INTs. Luck might be better example but both he and Ben are able to withstand pressure based on their sheer size. For the most part though all QBs flail under constant pressure especially if it's coming from 4 men or less fronts.
Just like in the AFCCG against the STEELERS. Oh wait... I've come to the conclusion most here cant give the guy credit at all and that in order for him to receive credit he must have a Brady or Manning like performance. It doesnt matter where he'll end up because he'll only do good because of the "system" in place. At the end of the day its a massive SO WHAT. What matters is that he does what he can do to win a game and that is exactly what he did yesterday. Why mention all these other QBs and QBR and bunch of other shit? He got the W, the coach understands his style, he should do good for the rest of the season. This thread has gone to hell so fast since yesterday. But that can be said about any Sanchez thread in this forum.
To me the bottom line with Mark were the results and incredibly bad turnover ratio. The rest of the stuff a bunch of excuses. And you can win with a Schillens. You have too. Again it's always the other players or the coaches etc. We'll see how he does.
He graded out average according to PFF I didnt see the game but I live in central Jersey and happen to have a lot of Eagle fans for friends. The consensus seems to be that Mark looked decent overall and played well for coming off the bench. He looked good in the redzone but still made his typical bonehead plays as well. They said he looked really confused after a couple of plays. People are overrating his performance already because they want to make the Jets look bad.
Rivers had a bad game, and made some shitty throws - but that doesn't change all the other beastly games he had this season. I wouldn't consider that "rattled" Dolphins have an underrated secondary with good corners. Russel Wilson is another good example. Smaller than most QBs, you can hit Russel but rarely have I seen that man rattled. That was eons ago. That 2011 season was really when you started seeing him get rattled after hits. Jason Babin? Von Miller? Ngata? You remember those hits in 2011?
he had one bad season, 2012. he had a lot of INTs in 2009 as a rookie but they were concentrated in about 4 games and he played well the majority of that season including the playoffs. had a bunch of INTs in 2011 but 32 total TDs which is a franchise record.
There is no comparison between Mark and Rivers. And to make one is a complete joke. Could Sanchez change that the second half of his career. It's possible but not probable.
Schillens is an NFL caliber receiver just not a good one. But he's not the reason for the the 52 turnovers. Mark is!
One has been a successful postseason QB, the other is Philip Rivers he's a guy we had as our 5th best WR coming into that season, one we thought was going to get cut in camp who eventually became a starter for us b/c of injuries but yeah Mark should have led us to the SB.
Schillens got bounced around from practice squad before being one of our key WR's. The final 2 years under Sanchez, the talent on the field was so terrible and the offensive line was terrible. Sanchez needs to work on his accuracy but that's why Braylon should have been kept over Holmes, but that's a whole different story.
So your point is that none of the problems or the picks or the pick 6s were Mark's fault, and when was Schillens ever one of our top receivers. Tone was number one and at times there was Braylon. And he had Keller.
Only because they disprove everything you try to claim. if they supported what you claim you'd be throwing it out as a defense point....
