Can't throw a late interception to the worst secondary in football at midfield in a must win football game. Can't do it.
I agree but ball was at midfield not at the Philly 10. D needed to step up, game was only close b/c of O.
Yep, and Den and Atl games were only close bc of the D but that didn't stop you from assigning them primary blame because they faltered late . Wow, Denver really had 8 straight 3 and outs? Forgot that. Edit: Never mind, misread. Merely 8 straight punts.
I won't argue with you over Manning, I've never truly liked him. He is a Hall of fame QB no doubt, but I have my reasons for not liking him. Everything you use, biased stats, biased situations, whatever you choose, absolutely does nothing but paint a picture of Nacho that proves he is nothing more than an average at best-below average 90% of his snaps under center. He has never led a team like Manning does, or Brady, Or Luck, etc..... And he never, ever will. He just doesn't have "IT"! Both teams he has played for masks his weaknesses. Limit his mistakes, run heavy for example, keep his reads simple as another. He still can't read a defense, he has yet to learn how to check in and out of plays to help his team by taking advantage of what good QB's can see. He is not accurate with any of his passes, unless the receiver has sat down and is wide open. His best offensive play is the hand off. It's sad that you put so much belief in this guy. It doesn't take extraordinary football knowledge to see that he is below average. I kind of give him a pass in 09 since he was a rookie. Believe me, I wanted him to do well. In 10, I still had a glimmer of hope and faith in him. He had enough weapons on offense to statistically put up better numbers, which he did. But he didn't change, our offense was still limited because of him. Our run game led our offense again. Our offensive limitations were due to his inabilities. We couldn't win the big one again, and he was one of the main reasons why, again. Blame the defense, blame whatever. Nacho was our downfall, thats how it was, and in Philly this year he proved to be their downfall especially when it mattered most. sound familiar? Truth is, if we had any QB in the AFC that was truly a top 20 QB, we probably go to the Superbowl in 09 or 10. Nacho could probably stand a couple years in the arena league. Seriously, it might help him. As it stands, deny it all you want, or blame shift to save your personal faith in him, but his play in this league since 2009 says I am right (along with so many others), and you are just a fan of the player and not a true fan or student of the game. Don't be mad at everyone on the board who disagrees with you. Be mad at Nacho for proving all of us right.
its really not a tremendous difference between the 10 and 50 yard line. about 30 percent chance from the 50 to score a td and a 50 percent chance from the 10. http://phdfootball.blogspot.com/2013/06/field-position-and-scoring.html there is a coach in high school football who never punts or kicks off deep. he ran numbers for high school and the 35 yards they would kick the ball meant so little to the percentage that they would give up a td that the chance of them attaining the first down on 4th down was just overwhelmingly positive.
i thought the arizona game a few years ago was just absolutely the worst display of offense i had ever seen. the one that lindley played against us. what a terrible fucking game to watch. not good defense, just putrid offense.
2012 was a BAD year, one of worse years we have ever had offensively especially later in the year when we lost our own capable weapons.
Holy cow, this topic has almost 200 pages. I wonder how many times "buttfumble" has been posted here.
Possible Landing Spots for Mark Sanchez in 2015: 1. Buffalo Bills Mark reunites with his best friend Rex Ryan and lead the Bills to the playoffs, while EJ Manuel continues to learn behind him. 2. Philadelphia Eagles Chip Kelly decides Mark was not the problem and is better than Foles and extends his contract. 3. Chicago Bears Whoever becomes the Bears new coach decides to trade Jay Cutler. They need a QB to plug in. Mark Sanchez takes the job. 4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers The Bucs decide to draft Winston or Mariota. They do it right though and want to let them sit for a year or two. ENTER MARK SANCHEZ as McCown is released. 5. Arizona Cardinals They can't trust the health of Carson Palmer or Drew Stanton anymore. Mark Sanchez shows up and leads the Cardinals back to the playoffs. 6. St. Louis Rams Same problem. Can't trust Sam Bradford. Need insurance. Mark Sanchez shows up and becomes more than insurance as he takes the starting job from Bradford. 7. Cleveland Browns They can't keep Hoyer and sure as hell don't want to start Manziel. Pettine knows how good Sanchez is. He is signed and leads the Browns to the playoffs! 8. Houston Texans Ryan Fitzpatrick just isn't the guy. They need a guy who can lead them to the playoffs. ENTER MARK SANCHEZ and the Texans steal the South from the Colts.
If I'm Mark I stay in Philly, but if he wants to compete/start then the Bears would be an interesting destination for him they have the weapons (Jeffery, Marshall, Bennett, Forte) their oline is a little shaky and that could be a future excuse point if things don't work out. Another destination could be the Cardinals they have the weapons (Floyd, Brown, Fitzgerald?, Ellington, Housler) and they have a decent oline and a fantastic defense. Maybe he goes there and competes with Stanton and Thomas. Another destination could be the Bills they have weapons (Williams, Woods, Watkins, Jackson, Spiller, Chandler) and a killer defense. The problems there could be Rex and his inability to develop any kind of offense. The other teams I don't see as a good fit for him for various reasons.
Not to beat a dead horse or anything but what the hell, it's dead and it don't feel it. I seem to remember someone saying how in demand Sanchez was going to be this year....He just agreed to a basically a backup QB contract, a 2 year deal with 5.5M guaranteed worth 9M and up to 7M in incentives according to reports out of Philly. max value with incentives is 16M but from what's being said he's only on salary for about 4.5M per year. Still, nice job getting a new contract and it does give leeway for him to earn more money if he performs. It will be interesting to see what the 7M in incentives are. http://www.nj.com/eagles/index.ssf/2015/03/does_mark_sanchez_signing_spell_the_end_of_nick_fo.html
he had other opportunities but he stayed in a place he likes and depending upon what they do in the draft he will have chance to start.
He wasn't going to get a starting job anywhere. At absolute best he would have been given an opportunity to compete for a starting job. He decided to stay in a place he's comfortable in and gives him the best chance to succeed. He's probably the backup going in, but the dropoff in ability between him and Foles isn't that huge, maybe he figures Foles gets hurt again.
first questionable move i have seen kelly make.... haha i had to say it. im glad he is staying htere, would have rather him be down the depth chart somewhere that i wont have to hear about him anymroe like tennessee or jacksonville. but as long as he isnt here i am happy.
