"I don't really care what anyone else says. If anyone says they believe anyone can play quarterback in our system, then they can't evaluate quarterbacks."

"I think it's a disservice to the guys who have played quarterback for us to say that anybody can play that position. It's the most difficult position to play in sports and it takes a real special guy."

I guess Sanchez doesn't suck enough...

Sanchez's play in Philly says less about him than it does the Jets organization.

    Fact is....the NY Jets suck.

You mean a winner like...... Sanchez?
Do you people not see that he wasn't even the starter, and the only reason he is on the field is because the starter is injured?
Kelly's system could make any Qb look good obviously. To beat it all, Nacho is playing like he did here in 09-10. Still turning the ball over, making a play here and there, and I guess in the Mark Sanchez fan club, looks like a top 10 Qb.
    Laughable.... Totally laughable.
When Nacho lays the big egg in the playoffs, are the fan boys still gonna blow his horn? Yep.... That's why they are fan boys, not fans who see the game as it really is. The more you guys act like he is doing something so special, aka "Leading the team" (what a joke!! Hahaha), the further away from reality you get. Hey fan boys, become Philly fans, spare us the excuses when he shows us his true colors! I will dang well remind you!! Hahahahah

Did you expect him to say the opposite?

Mark was really good in 2010 and good in 2009 so yeah he's playing like that.

    You should watch more football.

do you realize they are playing better and he is playing better than Foles was? if any QB could succeed why did Kelly target Mark? why not let Barkley play?

when did he ever lay a big egg in the playoffs w/ us?

some of us understand the game more than others, maybe some day you will be a part of that group.

That Joe Montana really sucked anyone could have done well in that system. Is that not proven with a shitty QB like Steve Young becoming a Hall of Famer in that system?

See how stupid that sounds ? There is no such thing as an offense that can make any QB look good this is the NFL not college. I love how Sanchez went from the worst QB ever to now not a top 10.

Was not the starter that is your argument? Foles was not the starter either until Vick got hurt, Kap was not the starter until Smith got hurt and are ready for it Brady was the starter until Bledsoe got hurt.

    Q. QB Mark Sanchez has not been throwing the ball down the field as much as QB Nick Foles did. Any reason behind that?

COACH KELLY: No, I just think it's the games and how they express themselves. Obviously, when you look at it, each game gets individualized in terms of what it is; sometimes when you get a lead, you're not throwing the ball as much just because you have a lead. And I love when people say that statistically when you run the ball more than you throw the ball, you're going to win a football game. Well that's because you're usually up and you run the ball more in the second half than you do in the first half. Usually if you look at what we do, we're pretty balanced early in the game.

We had a game earlier in the year against Arizona where we threw the ball more than we ran the ball. Well we were behind, so you have to throw the ball more when you're behind. So if you just look at the sheer statistics and kind of look what's going on in terms of the game. But [Mark’s] made those throws. The first throw of his career here, he came off the bench and threw a 50‑yarder on a post for a big play to Mac [WR Jeremy Maclin].

    Q. When you look at what you want in a quarterback, specifically in your offense, what does Sanchez give you and how would you evaluate his play?

COACH KELLY: Mark is a very good athlete. I think he's a really good decision maker. I think he spins the ball really, really well and therefore it allows him to be accurate in terms of what we're asking him to do.

On a lot of his completions so far for us, he's done a great job of offset throwing. Defender maybe shaded to the inside on the left and he's putting the ball outside to the right. He's done a lot of that, especially with some of the tight throws he had to throw in the Dallas game: a couple of those to Coop [WR Riley Cooper] inside, a couple of those to Mac inside, some of those to our tight ends. He throws the ball on the run very well. So I think he's done a really nice job in terms of what we've asked him to do.

    Q. Why does he look so different than he did with the Jets? It’s a different team, but he looks like a different quarterback from the last two years he played in New York.

COACH KELLY: I really, and I've said it before, I didn't watch him his last two years in New York. I think people laughed at that, but I knew Mark and I knew what we were getting. I talked to his college coaches more than I did that; I talked to his high school coaches and I knew what type of athlete he was and I knew what he could do.

For me to study his tape from the New York Jets ‑‑ now I know other people studied his tape, but I personally didn't study his tape because I know what he can do and I thought he could fit into our system.

Glad he is reviving his career. As maybe he needed to mature. And knows the system better in Chip Kelly offense.

That's hilarious actually that he talked to Sanchez's high school and college coaches and didn't look at anything from his last couple years in NY. Without saying it Kelly said the Jets don't have a frigging clue about offense and weren't worth consulting.

He may hit a bit of a glitch this weekend but I'm glad as an ex-Jet he's doing better than he was.

    Good for him.

I should watch more football? Dude, if average QB play from your all time favorite man crush is the pinnacle, how is it I need to watch more football.
I've seen the stats, I watched every game ( sometimes a couple times ), I saw the results, I don't think he did much more than contribute. He didn't lead, he held the team back. Using your context theory, which is your way of saying "My way of watching football is not possible to see by any other fan, because in my mind I'm the smartest football mind in the land", but in reality just jargon, because anyone with an inkling of football knowledge can see plainly he is AVERAGE AT BEST. If you thought Nacho played good in 09, and 10, you must be crazy. Our team held him up. Our run game was the only thing that kept us in 90% of our games on the offensive side of the ball. Our run game won our playoff games, with help from our defense. If Nacho was half of the player that you and the man crush fan boys believe he was, we would have won both AFC championship games. Nacho killed us in 10, in the first half. Remember the score in that game? Remember Nacho giving Pittsburg the points they needed to win the game? EGG #1!!!!!!!
Remember his quality QB play against the Colts in 09? Yeah fan boys, him and Peyton Manning were in a real QB shoot out! Give us Brady, Bree's, hell Rivers would have sufficed, and we win 2 superbowls! We didn't because we had a below average QB in this League. Now watch him. Same guy now as before, with the exception being he now has a coach who believes in a QB friendly system. He is still turning the ball over, just like he did in 09 & 10, and he is also on a team that can cover up for his mistakes, like the Jets did in 09 & 10. He still isn't accurate, and still folds up like paper at the first sign of pressure. The only good contribution he is at this point is his pay is a little more equal to his play. Maybe one day I will be able to watch football games like your small group of fan boys. Thru Mark Sancho glasses.
If being in love with a below average QB, means that your tiny little group of Nacho lovers can see the game in a way that no one else can understand, I will say I agree. You and your followers are right. You guys see it so differently, that a true explanation would only prove one thing. You guys can't tell a good play, or player, from a bad one.
Since Nacho is back on a contender (like the Jets in 09 & 10), how far will they take him?

Yeah. I don't think anyone in their right mind expects Sanchez to play like he did against the cowboys. I'll think he'll have an OK game but I think Seattle will bring their best D to make mark look like he really should be flipping burgers instead of playing in the NFL and cancel out egals offense.

There are at least 50 QBs in the NFL who should be flipping burgers before Mark.

I remember folks saying he'd never start a game again, would never wear an NFL jersey again, would be out of the league a year ago, wouldn't even be in the CFL now, would be working at McDonalds.

    The dude's 4-1 in 2014.

    Somebody overshot their hate.

Sanchez better give Chip Kelly half of his paycheck and thank him everyday. I can't wait until Philly gets a home game in the playoffs and loses in the 1st round when all the pressure's on Sanchez and he has multiple turnovers which is very normal for him. Then Philly fans will know how real Jets fans feel on this matter. 141 page thread devoted to a backup QB on another team? Priceless.

This will be a tough test, but the Seahawks have a tougher time this year covering the pass, the short ones more than not so that could help the Eagles
