as we know QB ratings tell all. Andy Dalton had almost a 100 rating, did he make plays to win? Eli 102.3 rating, man he must have been great. This is why we WATCH games and see situations. Stats tell part of the story.
He asked for the qb rating, I gave it to him. Don't get your panties in a bunch. As I said about 20 minutes ago, stats aren't the tell all but they are certainly part in the evaluation. Even YOU admitted such.
Considering we had 4 or 5 comebacks in the 4th Quarter or OT, that Q4 rating seems low. He was only in the 70's overall, that means his QB Rating 1st-3rd Quarters was HIGHER ??? Weird.....
Appreciation or Sucks Thread Where do you stand? Myself I like good ol' cold hard facts. There's no wiggle room, it's just you and the truth. His highest season completion rating is 56.7 Let's just call it what it is, he can only complete 1/2 of his passes. In four years he's thrown 69 int's and 26 fum's. That's 95 turnovers in 4 years, or 24.75 a season. 3 of his 4 years he has finished in the bottom 5 in QBR. The one year he didn't he finished 23rd overall ahead of such esteemed QB's as: Kyle orton, Matt Castle, Josh Freeman, Colt McCoy, Tim Tebow, Rex Grosman, Sam Bradford, Christian Ponder, John Skelton, Curtis painter and Blaine Gabbert. This was 2011 (his best year ever), only 4 of these QB's below Sanchez are still starting QB's and it was their rookie years for 2 of those 4. The apologist will say "but his playoff wins, his 2 AFCC appearances". Lets keep everything inperspective. - 2009 the Jets had the #1 defense and the #1 rushing attack. - 2010 the Jets had the #3 defense and the #4 rushing attack. (easy to argue we still had the best D in the league) 2009 and 2010 are the only playoff appearances in the Mark Sanchez era. Durring 2009 and 2010 the Jets made the playoffs by virtue of a wildcard slot. The Jets havent won the AFC East divisional title since 2002. This is where the apologist drive up semantics in order for their feeble protection of Sanchez to hold ground. While Sanchez only boasts a 60.5 completion% in the postseason, and while reaching 2 AFCC's, he has never actually won one. No superbowl apperances, no lombardi trophy. Where do the semantics come in, well the apologists point the finger at the D and say it's their fault for not stopping every drive. My counter would be that the D in both seasons carried Sanchez through the regular season. Stopping drive after drive, making unbelievable stops on top ranked offenses just for Sanchez to turn the ball over in the following series. Then come playoffs have to play in the wildcard game and then be on the road through the entire playoffs. It's fair to say the D was spent come the AFCC, the only time they needed Sanchez to pull his own weight and he couldn't. There's no discussion to be had here. The guy had the best team in the NFL (minus the QB) in 2009 and 2010 carry him through regular season and then deep into the playoffs to obtain the only empty accolades he and the apologist can hang their hats on.
according to NFLN, Sanchez is Wolverine and is getting better faster than many thought according to his recent doctor visit. Guy said (dont remember his name) that he expects Sanchez to start throwing by week 2 (which is this week no?). Could be all just wishful thinking though.
Well done...and a perfect summation. I'm still trying to figure out why the Jets organisation pulled the rug out from under Sanchez in '11/'12. Did they think they'd get better play out of Mark if they paid him more?
On the radio today in Charlottesville, VA, they announced Sanchez's injury: a torn labia in his shoulder. Not sure if he realized what he said.
i quoted this from the mark sanchez appreciation thread.... so to not shit up that thread like this one has been shit up. i dont mind the boner boys doing there thing in there. BUT for a guy who has shit up this thread from the very beginning the guy who just refused to let people be frustrated with a very poor qb to turn around and say some pompous shit like this is just beyond me.
that stepping up into the pressure is EXACTLY what mark sanchez HAS NOT DONE. that was the best thing i have seen geno smith do so far this year.
Me too. I miss these sexy stat lines from Mark last year: 10/21 97 4.6 ypa, 0 TD, 3 INT, 3 sacks 21.4 rating
It's comical that in every thread all the excuses for the loss are the same reasons that your so called "Apologists" have been saying for years.
Sanchez has the Pats number. He usually lights them up. Last couple of games he's thrown over 300 yards. Jets have the best pass protection in the league. Maybe he wouldve thrown for 400 yards. easy blowout for jets.
