There was no good reason for us to see Mark Sanchez ever take another snap in Jet uniform ... and now we won't have to. Great news.

It's all about Geno this season. Let's see what we have.

Not a surprise.....jibes with how Mark felt when I asked him about the shoulder a few weeks ago. He knew it and other injuries were more severe than the official explanation.

I believe the Jets hierarch, including Woody, knew this. And they wanted Sanchez to be able to relieve/backup Geno even if he was annointed the starter.

Woody is upset -- he thought for $8.5 MM he at least had a backup QB. He doesn't.

Mark Sanchez text: "If I needed surgery right now, I never would have left Andrews' office".

    - Per ESPN ScoreCenter App.

Might be the best thing for him. I think he needs a season of just watching/studying the game.

I feel bad that he has to go out like this. Despite how I feel about his play I never wanna see guys get hurt.

    good riddance

Rex didn't have the balls to bench him so his subconscious put him out there to get physically taken out

    I'll take it

Tough way to go out. It is what it is. Some good memories and some bad, strange in a way.

Love "tough way to go" posts.
1st, he's got 8M to make it easier. 8 mil Jets lacked to sign a top RB or WR. 2nd, over the past 2 years Mark brought nothing but crashed hoped, heartache and embarrassment to Jets fans. How about "tough times for the fans" attitude instead?

    Time to change avatar...

Still listed as "Day to day", Rex?

    Facepalm.

Ok, let's move on. Geno & Simms, legoo.

I wonder if Rex fist pumped when he heard the news...

Saved his job too in my opinion...

No one's truthful on those injury reports anyway.

    Phew! Thank goodness.
I don't feel sorry for him but am extremely happy for us.

When I go on the sick and am out for a couple of weeks I don't have people wailing and crying that I'm off, get real folks, he's a millionaire who have to worry about money again.
He'll play football again too once he's healed up too, IF someone takes a punt on him.

The last couple of seasons have been hell, so excuse me if I don't get the tissues out

Bad way to go out but he is well compensated, and it is not career ending injury

He might get backup job and commensurate pay for NYJ next year or he will just move on.

Time to focus 100% on developing Geno and adding offensive talent.

2014 Options for Sanchez are better than you think:

    -Minnesota Vikings, replace Ponder.

    -Jacksonville Jaguars, replace Gabbert.

    -Tampa Bay Buccaneers, replace Freeman.

-St. Louis Rams with Schotty, compete with Bradford.

    -Buffalo Bills, compete with Manuel.

    -Cleveland Browns, compete with Weeden.

    -Tennessee Titans, replace Locker.

    -Oakland Raiders, start easy.

How poorly run is this franchise that he wasn't put on IR immediately?

I'm not overly upset but it is a tough way to go out none the less. He blew out his shoulder to end his career as a jet. Either way it's time to move on.

there's no way this thread should have been merged - there really still needs to be a separate Sanchez surgery out for the year thread

    lots of over-moderating lately

Minnesota, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Cleveland and Oakland will draft QB's

St.Louis and Buffalo have no reason for him to compete with guys who are already better than him by far

Tennessee has no use for him in their offense as he cant run

Only way he's their QB is if Tannenbaum is hired as GM, Rex is hired as HC and they sign him

When threads get created like twitter and then it turns into a Sanchez bashing thread...it gets merged.

There's a sticky at the top on how NOT to create a thread and there's also already a Sanchez bashing thread.

If you have any other issues feel free to PM me and let me know what can be done better. (Seriously, not being a dick)

Not angry @ you, just pissed that people still make threads like if it's a damn race.
