Intresting stat on Sanchez he has a Carrer passing rating of 55% so far this preseason he has a rating of 64% and led the team on 6 td drives 2 ints, Could the west coast offense be rubbing off on him?no one seems to realize this stat
So he's been a shitty QB his whole career, and in this PRESEASON, he's been only slightly LESS shitty. No wonder nobody realizes that stat eh?
Its pretty obvious Sanchez is our best option right now. Hell, I trust McElroy more than Geno after last week. Geno looked so raw its incredible, guy has a lot of learning to do imo.
*grits teeth* It is a system that he's been used to before and been relatively successful in , ..I'm definitely not going to say maybe just maybe...been there done that
Ok, maybe it's only preseason but, 64% completion ratio, with about healthy 8 yards a pop, and 6 TD/2 INT looks really good for WCO QB. Seriously, that's a typical WCO QB stat. [63% completion ratio, 7.5 yards a pop, 2 TD/1 INT ratio] If Sanchez can keep this up in the regular season, Jets are going to be very fun to watch. [On top of that, I recall hearing the offense he learned at USC involves WCO heavily, but I don't recall the source.] And I believe both McElroy and Simms can do nearly as good a job, given the chance. The only one not ready is Geno at this point.
In 2012 Mark Sanchez completed 68.6% of his passes in preseason. In the 2012 regular season Mark Sanchez completed 54.3% of his passes.
It all comes down to the critical turnovers. If he can drastically limit his turnovers, those numbers are fantastic. However, he needs to prove that he can consistently avoid the game-changing mistakes that made his already poor statistical performances from last season simply unbearable. The concern that I have is that in 3 short preseason games (with only 2 drives in the 3rd game before he got hurt), he has shown anything but an ability to avoid those disastrous errors. Before he got hurt this preseason, he committed four more of the enormous, quintessential mistakes that have, so far, defined and embodied his career. Those routine, game-changing mistakes need to stop before we can even consider the possibility of confidently going forward with Sanchez as our long term starting quarterback.
Yeah, someone posted all of his preseason stats for each of his first four seasons in the NFL. He generally put up very solid numbers in all four of them. Thus, preseason has, up to this point, been an extremely poor indicator for how he will actually fare in the regular season.
But then my thought extended to just this. There is a reason Sanchez picked 6 as his back number. [LOL] If Jets are serious about WINNING any damn thing, they may be better off sticking with either GMac or Simms, now that Nacho is injured. [If Simms can fix his mechanics and improve his accuracy, the nod should go to him. GMac doesn't have the cannon Simms have.]
The biggest problem Rex has is that the media has decidedly turned against him in drastic fashion. And while that shouldn't mean jack shit, sadly, it always does and ultimately will influence Woody's ultimate decision . . . especially in a media market like New York.
Only the douche-bag writers have turned on Rex. Anyone that still has some semblance of true journalism in their bones, will be critical, but fair. They will continue to report the news. The Tabloid boys will continue with their bullshit. Herm: Media anoints him the human quote machine Mangini says nothing. Media rips him for being "Bellichic-ean" Rex comes in - Media rips him for being boisterous, over the top, a quote machine Rex Changes - media - he went "Mangini"; His wings are clipped. Its asshole writers looking for a headline.
F me! That pretty much summarizes it...except for the douche writers, but we know who they are don't we?
Where is this 6 TDs coming from? Sanchez has 2 TDs and 3 turnovers this preseason. Aside from 1 great drive (throwing to open receivers) vs the Lions, and another vs the Jags, he's been his usual self. He's horribly inconsistent and has only solidified that so far this preseason.
I saw it before, but didn't want to even try to dig through to find where it was. Another fun fact, the game he started against Jacksonville and played the most in this preseason he completed 56% of his passes...
I checked the source again, since I didn't think Sanchez was responsible for 6 TDs. He threw 2 TD passes. So his line goes: 64%, 8.2 Yds/att, 2 TD, 2 INT Sucks. One INT was a pick 6. The other was a pick in the red zone. Unacceptable, simply speaking.
