Great avatar, you're not biased, you're a Jet fan and he's a rookie who played 1 game and he's a bust?

To be fair I was labeling him a draft bust before the draft and was hoping the Jets wouldn't be dumb enough to draft him. The only saving grace is we didn't waste a 1st round pick.

What I have been saying since January is Smith was in a system that never huddled, he never had to call plays, he never had to call audibles and rarely if ever worked under center. He also never had to read defenses in college and he will never be able to handle the NFL caliber defenses he will face.

The Jets said they drafted him for mobility, but he average less than 1-1/2 yards a carry in his college career against much weaker defenses. The NFL will eat him up!

revive what career? he has sucked for 4 years there is nothing to revive. as far as sanchez in our new offense, he has looked like complete dog turd making the same mistakes he made time and time again in our last 2 offenses.

smith might suck, who knows, but there is no way seeing what a rookie can do is a worse option the starting a bottom 3 qb who has sucked and regressed for 4 seasons.

it boggles my mind how people can trash geno smith after 4 quarters of preseason football over the span of 2 preseason games in the same thread where they can excuses away tons upon tons of horrific plays and games by sanchez over the years.

geno through 3 picks yestarday... not good. but lets not pretend like sanchez is great at protecting the football. hell his rookie season he had games of 3,5,4, and 3 interceptions. hell he had one game where he completed 7 passes to jet players and 4 pases to opposing players!

if you want to bash geno, fine go ahead. but dont come here defending sanchez to death while doing it, cause you look like a giant hippocrite

I've has this avatar up since the second day of the draft and don't expect to change it any time soon.

Now if Simms was at least given a chance I would change my avatar to support the underdog.

In my case I have been bashing Smith for eight months, ever since I heard the Jets may draft the scrub.

We did see a rookie Qb start and face a very good giants defense. Turnovers suck worse than anything and Geno did have 3. From what I saw, the first was on spadola. The second was a bad throw, all on Geno! One thing is for certain though, nacho is way behind Geno in a couple different areas. Our short passing game would be better than the last 4 years. Geno's arm is stronger and more accurate. Geno isn't use to the speed, size and athleticism of the NFL! Nacho is afraid of it.

I haven't seen anything on twitter. Still see the same, scheduled for MRI today, XRAY supposedly showed collarbone was not broken last night.

Sanchez sucked the past four years, but he's heads and shoulders above Geno Smith come day 1. As bad as Sanchez was this pre-season, he didn't toss 3 INTs in a single fucking game. And he wasn't exactly hitting 50% either. If at all, this was the season he would align himself in the right direction. Now... we will never know. You know, typical Jets luck.

But then, this might be the blessing in disguise that Jets just needed. Be it unheralded low round pick [GMac/Simms] or QB lottery, Jets might be able to find their franchise QB one way or another. [It would be damn strange if Matt Simms wins SB with the Jets - his old man won it all with Giants twice, if anything. AND THIS IS NOT A PROCLAMATION THAT MATT SIMMS IS THE FRANCHISE QB IN THE MAKING. IT IS JUST A SIMPLE MUSING.]

Geno played in 3 different offenses at WVU. Also in Holgorsens system, thats all the QB does is read the defense and audible at the line. He never looked to the sideline because he had full control of the offense. You obviously know nothing about his college career. All that said, the mixture of Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey and Hologorsens system made him look better than he is.

you know i had a feeling that after hobbes got the boot and then jets4lyfah suddenly showed up that something was up.

that jets4lyfah has been around for awhile too, he always tlaked absurd fake gangster talk in the past.

this time he just went full hobbes on everyone. i hope he is permabanned for this one. i mean jeez it was too obvious last night in this thread. good job mods

btw, geno looked pretty bad, i probably wont go through it play by play but he was not even semi good last evening.

I stand by my comments, and feel 0 sympathy for Sanchez or anyone else who gets 20 million dollars a year to play a game and ends up pulling a muscle, especially when they play like shit. No doubt a man of your integrity stands by your comments as well, like the fact that you think that we are all jealous racists since we think Sanchez sucks.

Yes, Sanchez could have, but he didn't and so we know.

Look at Geno Smith, who you don't like anyway, and then look at what Mark Sanchez did to get pushed into the background so thoroughly that the Jets didn't even consider giving him the traditional prep game for the guy who was going to start the season.

When you screw up over and over again it has repercussions, one of which is that almost anybody but you looks like a better choice to start the season.

I remember jets4lyfah trolling HARD during the game threads last year.
I thought the same thing when Hobbes got banned and he magically reappeared.

80% of Jets fans wanted Sanchez gone, now I have to assume with the way he has been handled, he himself wants out of New York. I know I would. 2014 is going to look very different in Jets land. I am thinking no Sanchez, no Ryan, no Holmes, who knows who else.

Rex depends mainly on whether he can pull things together and turn a looming disaster into a respectable season. Idzik may want his own coach, and we don't know if this is the case or not, but he's also going to respect the job of coaching that Rex does this season and evaluate it properly.

Rex is also a really good shield against the NY media. He absorbs a lot of the vitriol and he's very good at disarming and deflecting hostile questioners. Last night was not a good example of that but usually he's better than that. I think the QB questions just got to him because everybody including Rex has them at this point.

Rex may of handled the situation a bit wrong at the presser but the media was poking and prodding with the same question over and over which is unprofessional and has been happening a lot these last two seasons when it comes to coverage of the NYJ. Major networks and newspapers are more interested in viewers than they are in legit coverage of the team.
