I don't quite understand people that say this, I'm no fan of Mark, but if he went out there and played well and put up good numbers and led us to the playoffs and cut down on the bone headed mistakes, he would certainly shut up a lot of people and I would be more than happy to keep him as our starting QB. The problem is, he has yet to prove that he can do that, and only proves he is inconsistent and possesses poor decision making skills.

Even beginning to attempt to tell you what you have been "wrong about" in the past would constitute hours upon hours of energy that I simply don't have. I will say, however, that you not acknowledging Sanchez as being partly at fault for that dreadful interception perfectly epitomizes how delusional you really are regarding Sanchez. Equally troubling is how you nonchalantly brush off Sanchez missing a wide open receiver in the end zone (something he has a propensity for doing) simply because we "don't know the call." Your decidedly biased and/or pathetically delusional thinking regarding Mark Sanchez knows no bounds.

You said "if he went out there and played well", you should have capitalized the IF, and here's why I said what I said:

OK, 2009, its his rookie year and we all make rookie mistakes, 2010, 2nd year and same mistakes BUT its only year 2, 2011 NO noticeable progress, and in fact some regression in his 3rd year and 2012 TOTAL REGRESSION. The guy never progresses, never changes his mistakes, never shows any leadership qualities.

Given 4 years of DATA, as I said before, he could LIGHT IT UP in pre-season and I would still be screaming for GENO.

Just out of curiosity, how long should JET FANS wait for SANCHEZ to miraculously turn into a viable NFL QB? I'M done waiting! Sorry!

    hardly a "vagina" sprain Hobbes,

    http://t.co/LrkeIJoqBb

Notice his knee is bending in the exact opposite direction it should be bending....

"Dolphins TE Dustin Keller tore his ACL, MCL, PCL and, as if that weren't enough, dislocated his knee, per source.
    — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) August 18, 2013"

Lets see, tore his ACL, MCL, PCL and dislocated the knee...yeah minor injury roughly equivalent to a hangnail.

The way you talk Keller had been injury prone his entire career, never mind that 2012 was the first year he EVER missed a game.....Yeah he didn't start a total of 23 games he appeared in over his career..but 10 of those non starts were his rookie season and 3 of them were in 2012, He missed 10 starts, but no games, over the other 3 seasons. But hey, even if he was injury prone with him having to expose himself to hits catching bad Sanchez passes it wouldn't be surprising.

That said, (had to bring Sanchez in to it since it is the Sanchez thread), he had an injury that may well end his career. It's hard enough to come back from an ACL, even harder to come back from an MCL and I think (I'm no expert) but I think the PCL is even more difficult to return from. he tore all three. There is a good chance that his career is over.

I dont care if its a running joke. You dont joke about someone potentially having his career in jeopardy with an injury like that. Pathetic.

You keep bringing in the OC

Schotty and Sparano suck to you but then you tout Marks 32TD season under Schotty

So did Schotty suck outside that year or did Mark make up for his weak OC, if that's the case why couldn't he do the same under Sparano

If system matters, why is it that Mark is still prone to bad reads

The system will make his stats look good but it can't fix stupid

No it hasnt been your point all along. You have a ton of idiotic points, Hobbes. I mean you pick something positive from each game that has an underlying negative truth in order to make some dumbass point. If you are trying to tie them all together back to some central argument, it isnt working.

Just posting "99.8 QBR" and "27 total points" doesnt do anything. You are grasping at straws man. Even with this great OC that you are raving about, Sanchez is still making rookie mistakes and is STILL extremely inconsistent. Even if he starts, he is done here.

But you said his days of shutting people up are in the past, and no matter how well he plays, even if he has the highest QBR possible you would still want Geno. I'm sick of waiting for Sanchez to play well as well, but if he does play well, I don't understand how people wouldn't support it. Because you're not the only Jets fan I've heard say they won't support Sanchez no matter what, and I just don't get that.

I think its moreso that people are just sick of his poor - mediocre play. I also think many are saying they wont support him because they just dont see him ever changing significantly enough for him to be a quality QB.

Im sure if he miraculously turned into a top 12 QB, everyone would support that. I just think the majority doesnt see that happening. Not at all.

But it's different to say I'm sick of waiting for him to turn the page and play well, I want Geno. Than even if he has a perfect QBR and plays well, I would still want Geno. That's where you start developing the line between a Sanchez critic, and a Sanchez hater.

    Bottom line:
Mark is in his fifth year, yet all the other QBs have looked equally "good" or better. And the other three are essentially all rookies. In a fair competition, we wouldn't have to worry about seeing Mark start Week 1.

In a fair competition, there is no such thing as an incumbent.

In a perfect world, Idzik recognizes and puts a stop to Rex's favoritisms and flat out cuts Sanchez.

We then would have three developable youngsters with McElroy being able to game manage until Geno's ready. There's no time to waste, we need to thoroughly know what we got before next year's draft - what are our need at QB by then? Do we already have what we want?

Idzik builds through the draft, and we better know what we got at the most important position in a draft with potential franchise QBs.

If Idzik doesn't see him as a part of the future (which he shouldn't), keeping and playing Sanchez is just wasting precious experience time. The only reason why Sanchez is a threat to this team's progress, is because the stubborn emperor is mesmerized by him and would rather be dethroned than accept how wrong he's been.

    Cut. Him.
    Everybody wins.
