Sanchez looked great in the beginning of both games so far but he ruined both performances, The pick 6 and the redzone int are the types of things that cost u games in this league and there's no excuse for it Hobbes, regardless if Winslow fucked the route up it's still Sanchezs fault he coulda ran that in untouched for 7, Instead he makes us want to throw up
Mark Sanchez made a bunch of mistakes last night. The sad thing is that his usual error rate is so high that he can throw a red zone int, be inaccurate on a bunch of passes and then completely blow a clock management situation and it looks like his average day and people use that to try to give him a pass. Mark Sanchez took a minimum of 6 points off the board for the Jets last night. He could easily have taken 14 off if you assume that he should have made the gimme pass to Gates and that a normal QB scores a TD on the drive he was picked on. It's just disgusting to watch at this point. Why Rex is committing coaching suicide by continuing to promote Sanchez is not clear.
Besides the redzone int he threw alot of high passes and some inaccurate ones on throws that should be cake for a 5 th year QB
Maybe he just isn't good and that's the one thing he can't say and maintain his career? He's a terrible role model for Geno Smith. I cringe every time he goes into his fully accountable "I've got to be better and not make those mistakes going forward" routine because he's never better the next week and he usually makes the same mistakes that caused the problems last week. Talking the talk doesn't mean squat if you can't/won't walk the walk. What people need to realize is that Sanchez is in a downward spiral at this point and has been for two years now. His end of season in 2011 is what 2012 looked like. His end of season in 2012 was the worst play of his career and odds are that's what 2013 is going to look like with a bit of adjustment for Marty M being a much better OC than Tony Sparano. The Jets aren't likely to be able to whistle by the graveyard with Sanchez at this point. He's likely to be so bad early on that he forces their hand after outraging the crowd.
Laughed when he said he wasn't going to help Geno, 1st of all, he could teach him how to have 50 turnovers in 2 years, 2nd what a great selfish teammate to say that
He knows he made a mistake throwing an interception, what do you want him to say? He's giving the same answer because reporters are asking him the same question. I'm not the biggest Sanchez fan but it sucks that it appears you can either be on one spectrum of loving Sanchez (like Hobbes) or the other spectrum (which is most of this board) where everything from his facial hair to his head band is the worst. Am I the only fan who is in the middle?
Nope. I would say that I am in the middle too. I am just realistic. As for the Sanchez interviews, the reason the reporters keep asking the same questions, is because he keeps making the same mistakes. Drives me crazy because Mark sounds smart when he talks. He sounds like he gets it, then makes the dumbest mistakes. He is who he is though.
The second time (end of the half), I don't understand how it wasn't one read, chuck the ball out of the back of the EZ. It's all you have time for, but it seemed he felt pressure and forgot about the situation in the game. If I remember correctly, once the clock hit 0, it wasn't even a catchable ball for the WR which again is lack of understanding. You burnt the clock, now at least give a WR a shot at salvaging the broken play for 7 points.
That last play of half was ridiculous and sums up Sanchez perfectly, STUPID, as starting QB you have to know how much time is on the clock, they had time for one pass and if they didn't score kick a field goal,, instead Sanchez runs around for too long, throws a crap pass, wasted the time on the clock and they come away with nothing,,, This is his 5th year in the league, He shouldn't be making rookie mistakes.
I still think his hairband might be a little tight. I wonder if anyone's told him honestly how bitch like that thing makes him look. His game might suck, but he doesn't have to look like an extra from "Valdez is coming"..
I'd say he too often tries to make "the play" rather than playing it safe. It's why he throws balls into tighter windows than he should sometimes, and I think he tried making a hero play at the end of the half last night when he should have just taken the 3.
Why ? How can a guy who took us to 2 AFCCG's -- mediocre/good in the regular seasons for 2009 and 2010, then very good/outstanding in the post-season -- not show progress ? I have 3 reasons: (1) The WR changeup after 2010. An outright disaster, as 3 of his 4 Top WR's left. And keeping Holmes over Edwards was a bad choice in hindsight. (2) Tony Sparano: a joke of a hire. He's an OL coach, not an OC. (3) No draft help or FA help
So, are you telling me, Sanchez had two other, BETTER options but instead chose to throw at Winslow? Is he fucking blind or something?
