Sad shit is...I think had they rolled with Simms to start the 3rd the score could have potentially been worse!

I know I couldn't have been the only one to notice how the Jets started running the ball a whole hell of a lot so as not to run the score up on the Jags in preseason. Simms was humming the ball too well for their secondary. Shame MM had to "massage" poor Nacho's fragile mental state.

because if he gets injured it doesn't hurt the Jets as much as his getting as much playing time as possible help the Jets.

So, let me get this straight:

We should all patiently sit around and watch Sanchez fuck up game after game with his prototypical propensity for game-changing turnovers and an embarrassing lack of accuracy, and only after the Jets are out of playoff contention (or Sanchez "completely tanks" - Whatever the fuck that means . . . Apparently, you don't think he "completely tanked" last season), should we demand that he be replaced with the highest rated quarterback in last year's draft. Gotcha.

Your math is off as Sanchez threw for 169 yards not 163.

    Sanchez through for 87 yards in the 2nd half. 87 +82 = 169. And yes 87>82.

Rotoworld's the one who said 163.

Either way they need to get their facts straight. Either report the right yardage or figure out what the word "majority" means.

You make a mighty good point! Mark was being Mark...and that's just a pure crying shame if you think about it. He WAS his average self tonight.

I think we've all just reached a point where it's more cathartic to complain about it. Ironically, at the beginning of the game, in true Jets fan fashion, people were willing to give him a chance...even sarcastically clapping the throw away...then he had to up and go throw an int in the end zone. He couldn't do it at the 40 or 30...no sir...had to be right in the middle of the end zone.

Yes sir, you summed it up. Mark Sanchez was himself tonight...and I as a Jets fan now require MORE from my QB.

He did completely tank last season. It was terrible. However, the Jets have still not brought in someone who is better than Sanchez. Geno could be, and likely will be, in the future, but currently is not. I still have no problem starting Geno vs. the Giants just to see what he has, but I am not sure Rex will do that.

    Well said post. :)

Hopefully we will go back to 2009-2010 strategy and limit Sanchez's exposure to situations where he can make mistakes. He is a much better QB now than he was in 09-10 except he needs his handcuffs back. Some people for their own safety and the safety of others simply should not be allowed around sharp instruments. Sanchez is one of those people.

Keep his confidence up and he might be able to make occasional good throws like he did to Edwards in the 3rd quarter on 3rd down. It was a very nice throw especially coming after 2 very bad throws.

Wrong. Hopefully, we can REPLACE Sanchez with someone who ISN'T Inherently limited as an NFL quarterback, sometime in the near future. You can't play around your quarterback in today's NFL. It's just too hard.

I think you just nailed it...and, the proof was in the 3rd quarter. Morningwood saw that his confidence was shot so he started running the rock.

I REALLY wish Geno had not tweaked his "wheel" last week...I think that coupled with being a rookie just screwed him out of any shot of starting against Tampa. Unless he miraculously goes into next Saturday, playing firstly, and lights up the Giants...he rides the pine to start the season.

Sanchez played well everywhere except for the redzone. I can't remember exactly how many attempts he had in the redzone, but they all looked brutal.

Wow. I can't wait for the day when I can make a sentence about our QB without it starting, "He played well except......" It's depressing at this point.

Exactly, well written. Let me rephrase: the ceiling for Sanchez is good backup qb. Soon he will be relegated to that role, never to be a starter again, a la Kyle Orton. And I hope being in the role where he belongs will come as a relief and he'll have a nice fulfilling career as backup. Even making it to the NFL is a big deal and takes skill of course but at this point despite all the anger of being a Jets fan, I almost feel bad for Mark because way more was expected from him than he could ever deliver based on one good year of college ball. I say almost because I don't feel bad since he's made a king's fortune in the process. We all wanted Mark to succeed and he's a likeable guy for the most part. The reality is that he is not our franchise qb. Look around the league at what guys are doing these days. turn on the Seahawks game, watch Russell Wilson ball out. that's what a franchise qb looks like.

You don't tailor your offense to fit the needs of a bad quarterback. You get rid of him and look for someone better.
