This is what I'm saying. Look at the playoff teams last year, all the QB's had solid weapons.

    Peyton had Decker and Thomas

Matty ice had Jones, White, and Turner

Flacco had Boldin, rice, and Smith (jones was lights out too)

Red rifle had Green and Greasham

    Schaub had foster, and Johnson

    Kaper had Crabtree, Gore, Davis

    Sanchez had Schillens and Gates

The Jets weren't a playoff team last year.

Well, yes and no. Hakeem Nicks (whom Giant GM Jerry Reese called "the lynchpin of our offense") banged up his knee in week #2 vs. Tampa Bay, then ignored doctors' advice to rest 6-8 weeks, came back in 2 weeks and was clearly not himself for the rest of the year. Three measly TDs for a supposed 'lynchpin' (and career lows in catches/yards as well). And besides, the Giants defense kinda sucked last year - ended the year ranked 31st in the league.

    Including Mark Sanchez ;-)

BUT, as Bill Parcells once said: "you are what your record is" and our young little Chippendale stripper Marc has a playoff winning percentage that speaks for itself:

    Marc Sanchez:. .667%
    Aaron Rogers:. .623%
    Drew Brees: . . .557%
    Brett Farve: . .. .542%
    Jim Kelly: . . . . . .523%

Matt Ryan in the same class as Marc Sanchez? Don't make me laugh:
    Matt Ryan: .200%

    HOF numbers.

Ryan certainly outplayed Sanchez in the playoffs the last two years.

You seriously see their two situations as being equal?

But how many more playoff appearances have each of those guys had?

I think Matt Schaub did ok on a few bad Texans teams.

Because anyone the Jets have had equals Andre Johnson or Arian Foster or Owen Daniels?

Nicks banged up was better than anyone we had once Holmes went down and Cruz was healthy all year and he's probably better than Holmes when healthy.

The Giants D was 12th in PA and in the 2 biggest games of the year(weeks 15 & 16) the NYG O scored a total of 14 pts w/ 7 of them being in garbage time.

bad Texans teams that were expected to be good, he's a great fantasy QB but you aren't winning anything in jan/Feb w/ him.

Better example would be the current Phillip Rivers. Who lost talent around him every year but maintained a good enough level of play. You mention Andre Johnson and company but if the talent level was the only factor for good QB play then Curtis Painter with virtually the same talent Peyton had would have strived as well right?

Philip Rivers was never great w/ great weapons and what he had last year was MUCH better than what mark had and he led SD to ONE more win.

Curtis painter has proven he can't play in this league, mark w/ half the talent peyton had helped his team reach 2 title games.

Philip Rivers dropped off considerably and had the worst year of his career when Vincent Jackson left for Tampa.

Your point with Curtis Painter and Peyton Manning is a good one in that all QBs are not created equal, but the exact same thing can be said of WRs and every other position in the NFL.

That actually would be terrible example for you to use, as Rivers has been terrible lately, due to losing talent around him.

No doubt it would have given us a better chance to win but we were in an even better situation after that when NE fumbles the kick return. The game was tied and we had it at the Patriots 18 with 2:01 left. We just needed to run a little clock and kick a FG. Instead we went 3 and out taking 18 seconds off the clock and kicked a FG. The point is we had plenty of opportunities after the drop to win the game and came up short.

Sanchez has only made the playoffs 2 times.

Rodgers has made it 4 out of his 5 seasons.
Brees has been to the playoffs 5 times.
Favre has been to the playoffs 12 times.
Jim Kelly has been 8 times.
Matt Ryan has made it 4 out of his 5 seasons.

Put anyone of those QBs on our 2009 and 2010 team and we more than likely win a Super Bowl.

Comparing Mark's playoff win % to guys who have been there at least 50% more is like comparing an NBA player's 3 point % who only attempted half the amount of shots. It is even worse than that because this is a team game and Sanchez was only was a small part of those wins.

He has turned the ball over a lot but still had a positive TD / Int ratio and has thrown for more scores each season than Sanchez's career season high.

Maybe Kelly or Rodgers(or Brees) but favre played w/ much more talent and only won one and made 2, w/ similar talent a year earlier against a much weaker sched he couldn't even get us to the playoffs.

Ryan has so much more talent to work w/ it's not even funny and yet he can't win HOME playoff games.

That video I posted was highlighting what went right and wrong in that particular game, and what went wrong was basically: 1) special teams blew it. 2) the defense couldn't cover Gronkowski. 3) Hill's drop.

Mark Sanchez's appearances were all in the highlights, including big games by Kerley and Keller, and with the drive he orchestrated to get the team into position to win before Hill dropped that pass.

So in a game that actually mattered and meant everything to the team, despite all the things that were already going wrong at that point in the season, Sanchez did his job, he did it well, and he gave the Jets a chance to win.

Everyone is sick of Sanchez because of how the season ended, especially the Tennessee game. At that point though, the team and its spirit was essentially crushed. The injuries, the Tebow debacle, the buttfumble... everything and anything that could've possibly went wrong this season did. I don't feel it's fair to scapegoat Sanchez for that (even though he buttfumbled).

We've been over the Favre and schedule thing. Not only was the talent worse around him but we were 8-3 before he tore his biceps. We didn't have the #1 D or #1 running game that year to carry him either.

Sanchez lost to both teams that represented the AFC in the Super Bowl those years right? Matt Ryan has only lost playoff games to teams who either won the Super Bowl that year or represented the NFC in the Super Bowl. He has never had a D or running game like Sanchez has had either. Had Sanchez faced the Colts or the Steelers in round 1 he wouldn't have a single playoff win. I not dumb enough to only look at playoff wins in a team sport to judge which QB is better. There is all kind of things that factor into winning playoff games.
