Eli Manning did the same thing against the skins this past Sunday. He just happens to have the hardware to excuse it. A blown coverage by the Skins gave Manning a free throw. Every QB makes "rookie" mistakes.
Hey LongTime, now thats an adult response and I agree completely. Sanchez has been a pretty dang successful QB based on wins. He really doesn't need people trying to explain away his performance with ridiculous excuses. I don't really care about excuses and who played hurt or who dropped what pass. All I care about is winning and I think that is all most adult fans would agree with. Winning cures all sorts of ills. As the late Al Davis said, "Just win Baby".
I can't help but compare Sanchez first 4 years with Eli's... as much as we all want a change maybe it's not such a good idea just yet. CONTINUITY.
Why do you think the Fins have a good pass D? They're ranked 28th in the league. Sanchez passed for over 300 against them without Keller & Hill. And before you tell me about Santonio, Kerley has filled that role quite well.
Don't undersell the hardware part as it relates to the QB's career. Eli has played well enough that when he makes a dumb mistake there isn't cause to panic. The jury is still out on the profile of Mark Sanchez as a QB. I think that INT in question was an awful play on his part, but he did more than enough to put his team in position on Sunday. Sanchez has been somewhat streaky up to this point in his career and I don't think criticism for mistakes that you would like to see lessened is undue.
I think the Dolphin defense is actually rated fairly well in PPG. I know a lot of people use yards as a means to judge defenses, but personally I like points per drive and turnovers per drive as 2 of the main criteria. For all the other people debating Sanchez's ability, go take a look at the yards after the catch for Jets receivers and compare to a few other teams. Kind of surprising (or maybe not.)
Sensitive? I laughed in your face about it. I think the fact that people sign up just to troll is hilarious. Never said I was superior, you brought politics into it for no apparent reason, and I pointed it out. Don't hate the player hate the game, son. Don't dish it if you can't take it.
Late to the party but not a troll. BARCS, You missed the point of it all. I suggest that Sanchez dosen't need anyone to make excuses for him or for that matter, boost their support for him through the use of some 3rd degree stats analysis. If he is a winning QB, he keeps playing. If he's a losing QB, then he should sit. I support the team, not the player, son.
I wasn't referring to our pass D when I said lets see what happens. Lol I know our pass D sucks right now
LMFAO. Sanchez. Holy stinkin pile of shit. Sanchez back... has time... sacvked, fumble... oh no, he was in the grasp! Sanchez back, S Hill open at the 2 yard line... Sanchez throws it 3 yards behind him. What a f'n joke of a QB.
It really starting to look like Rex is just going to let Sanchez play it out and position for the draft, but how can Rex be sure he'll be around next year?
Yeah, I honestly can't defend his performance today. That pick was unexcusable. He'll never stop being skittish under pressure and that's his biggest problem. If he could just hang in the pocket and not let the pressure affect him he would be so much better.
The Jets should get Matt Moore from the Dolphins. He'll be cheap and he's way better than Sanchez. Anything's an upgrade at the QB position at this point.
