garrard being healthy is the key. if he stays healthy there is no way in the world we go into the season with sanchez on the team. i fully expect them to cut ties with him before camp. although they may just hang on to him hoping that someone will take a few million of his salary instead of cutting him. i honestly think that ship will come to pass far earlier than that. i think they are actively trying to see if there is anything out there now and once they realize nobody is going to give them any help they will understand that it makes more sense to cut him than to keep him.

Bold faced lie. You have used that multiple times when describing Victor Cruz's 99 yard touchdown.

I completely understand now. NE definitely would have scored there because they weren't really trying to before. They just wanted to toy around and almost lose a game and then win it in OT. They didn't want to pull off another 45-3 but they could have if they wanted so anything Sanchez did to try to win wouldn't really matter.

What a damn joke. Just shameful arguing skills in this thread.

Hobbes, you know I like you, man.

But that Phins fan you just cheap-shotted has provided more objective insight about the Jets than you and junc combined have posted in the past year.

What is it you kids like to call it? Fair and Balanced?

Shouldn't you be trying to find that video you vividly remember of James Harrison giving Sanchez a concussion in a game he didn't play in? :rofl2:

Can you find those quotes? I thought I used a different term. Oh well, it's inconsequential to the argument anyway.

You are being roasted again in this argument. Use logic for a change please.

Do you even watch the games? Let's recap the 2 games of 2011 and the first one of 2012.

    Game 1 2011:

Trailing 27-14 w/ just uner 13 mins left we go on TD drive to pull w/in 6 w/ 7 mins left. NE goes on 6 mins drive, kicks FG and game is out of reach.

    game 2 2011:

D played great most of first half, they get a safety to make it 6-2, then our O scores a TD to take a 9-6 lead w/ 1:20 to play. NE gets the ball at their 20 and in just over a minute(1:03) they score a TD and take a 13-9 lead into the locker room.

Jets now trail 23-9 w/ 4 1/2 to play in the 3rd. They go on 71 yd TD drive to score early in the 4th to pull w/in a TD. What happens next? NE goes on 84 yd TD drive to go up 14 pts again.

    Game 1 2012:
Trailing by 10 w/ under 13 mins left we score a TD on 86 yd TD drive then kick 2 FGs to take a 3 pt lead w/ a min and a half to play. NE kicks FG to send to OT.

when NE needs it they have always gotten it the last 5 reg season games. There is no reason to think anything would have changed but in your world we would have scored a TD then stopped NE and shut down NE in the 2nd half.

    use logic for once please.

That is BS and you know but if we don't bash Mark sanchez it means we think he is the best QB in the game. beast beach is getting destroyed w/ his weak arguments right now.

This is one of the biggest issues people have with you. You act like you are not defending the pick and say you think it was a horrible decision and then go on to make stuff up about how much better off we were because of the pick he threw.

You know if he threw to Greene instead of doing his pump and chuck, we have a first down on the NE 20, at least.

NE pinned us on our own 5 after Mark's pick that pinned them on their own 2. We drove from our own 5 and kicked a FG right before the half. If we scored earlier instead of throwing a pick, NE may have had a little better field position, but it is very possible we still hold them and even if we don't, we wouldn't have been starting on our own 5 like we did. Things change for us too.

It's nuts to make up all these crazy possibilities that only go in NE's favor just to try and defend a horrible decision by Mark. If you would use the logic you mock people for not using, you would know that we were not better off with Mark throwing that pick.

Just own up to it and leave it alone.

You have been getting destroyed with your weak arguments for a while now and you don't even realize it.

As I said, you were correct, I was probably thining of the previous game against them. On e I say I was wrong,, I see no reason to continue the point.

Besides, the only thong on Youtube is the elbow to the head, late, after a slide, and ive not the time to scroll through entire games.

The box score doesnt relate it unless its a sack.

People can have any issues they want w/ me. I would prefer he didn't turn it over but in this case I do not believe the TO hurt us and may have helped us. That doesn't absolve him from the horrendous decision but in the end I do not believe it hurt us.

It's possible we hold NE down, it's not probable. How many times in similar spots the past few years have they driven and scored on us?

I am dealing w/ reality, I am not making things up that are not realistic. The scenario I gave is very realistic. Does that mean it would have happened that way? of course not but it's more likely it happens that way than any other way and if it did you guys would be bashing mark for not taking enough time off the clock.

what do you think is the more realistic scenario? us kicking a FG and holding NE or us kicking a FG and NE coming down and scoring at least a FG?

we didn't score b/c of the TO but b/c of the bad FP neither did NE and we'd get a FG on the next drive. I don't believe that TP hurt us.

Byz, hes earned it. Go back a week or two worths of pages, and youll see several posters not named me, called him out for trolling. My posts specifically.

And, that was more humor intended than insult intended...if I wanted to insult the guy, i'd hardly use humor.

don't confuse being ganged up on w/ getting destroyed. any logical person reading this thread will tell you that. The problem is when it comes to mark all logic is thrown out the window b/c anyone defending him must be crazy. He buttfumbled- did you know that? so if a crazy person thinks he can play in this league(which he has proven) it means we think he's the greatest!

Mark still has promise... but I don't think it's with this team. He is a scared football player.

I also think Beast is doing a pretty good job against you. And I also think that he has kicked Hobbes' ass.

Don't get me wrong, junc. I enjoy your arguments. But that is mainly because of your passion to argue.

I think the best minds are those that can absorb all arguments and bend when another makes more sense. Adaptive reasoning.

You, on the other hand, decide that you have the best argument at some point, and once you convince yourself of that, you defend that argument for years, and now we're moving to over a decade. You set your arguments, archive them, and find ways the defend them from anything resembling hindsight.

Mainly because you are obsessed with arguing. And while that can be entertaining, it is not convincing. Because overall, it comes off as insincere.

    Just saying.

Well, i woud say, that your observation is premature, because the fact currently remains, that today...Sanchez is the most accomplished, and best all around QB on the roster.

The third week of pre season, will tell whose argument is correct the eyes of the staff.

The guy that starts that game, barring injury is your opening day starter....

And FWIW, its not so much for arguing, its about blaming the wrong guy.

Sanchez actually progressed in his first couple years. Not as much as one would have liked in 2011, but much of his failure was systemically induced.

These guys act like he is Vernon Gholston. He's just not.

The argument is simple. All other issues being resolved, Shit OC, No skill depth, fairly well resolved for opening day, it is in the best interest of the team, for Sanchez to succeed under MM.

I think he can and will, since its closer to what he did at USC.

But...come opening day, when he sticks his hands up Mangolds ask, the hate crowd, will clamor that doesnt prove anything...he still sucks.

    SOJF.

We are dealing with 1 game, not games in years past. We held NE 4 out of 5 drives in the first half. I think it is very realistic that we score a TD if Sanchez throws it to Greene instead of throwing an interception. I think with momentum on our side only being down 2 points that we could have held NE again. Even if NE kicks a FG on that next drive, that means we would only be down 5 and would have not started the next drive on our own 5. We receive a kickoff instead and with better field position, maybe we score again? If not, we probably kick a FG and are only down 2 again. There is no logical scenario where we are better off with that pick.

I very capable of knowing the difference.

The only problem is the only "Logical" people that tell me that are the same two people that are getting destroyed.

You got one thing right when you said all logic goes out the window when it comes to Mark. You and Hobbes defending Mark that is.

You didn't know that Moore was catapulted into Mark on the Buttfumble and that it wasn't Mark who forgot the play? He's was covering for Greene and turned Greene's mistake into a great run until Moore came out of no where. That play just goes to show how much of a freakin leader Mark is. He's a hero, but the media and average fans just don't get it.

Yeah you guys have a bad habit of saying "this is my argument" but then making stupid observations which show that you aren't being honest.

For instance, Hobbes, you vehemently deny that the buttfumble was Sanchez' fault. Pretty sure you also said you can't blame the Tennessee game on Sanchez.

Both of those arguments show that you aren't really being reasonable.

If people go through my posts they will see I say something similar. I have said I don't know if he can recover here, I want him to have that chance but I have never said he's a guarantee to turn it around here. mentally he may have to go somewhere else.

I like beast despite our differences. I think he is a good poster, I don't think he's doing a good job in this thread but overall I think he is a good poster.

I am always willing to bend but you better bring some good info to make me bend. Clearly that has not been happening in this particular thread.

In this one game w/ the game on the line after holding NE's O down most of the game the D allowed a scoring drive to tie it in the final minute after we had taken a late lead.

Getting the 1st down is one thing, I don't think w/ our offense we could assume a TD.

If you look at the actual arguments you will see who is getting destroyed. You making stuff up in that last sentence is exactly what I am talking about.

Gawddamn right...progressions are for pussies. And no one is better than Sanchez at missing ALL the open receivers...well if you don't count the opposing players.

Of course. I don't even know why we bother playing games against winning teams. Guys could get hurt.

Speculation is at the very core of logic. This is the Jets we're speculating about. We always lose in the future because we lost in the past.

No..BS is not bashing Sanchez but vilifying Namath, Favre, Manning and any other HOF QB not named Brady. The same shit you did with Pennington..the only people you are ever behind here are those that hurt the Jets.

That makes a lot of sense if Sanchez didn't spend the past year and a half looking like the first female quarterback in the NFL.

I understood this one. It sure will. And Crom Willing, it will be the quarterback that we recently paid a ton of money to. It's just about as likely as Joe McKnight leading the league in rushing.

That has been a pretty meaningless designation for many players in recent years.

    You're not junc.

Much as some failure can be systemically hidden. I am fine with giving Sanchez credit for his performance in the 09/10 and 10/11 playoffs.
Are you willing to criticize him for his regular season performances for those same seasons?

Stupid people do that. It's fun to make fun of them. Seems like you take them seriously.

Will you only be satisfied when he fails with a complete and legendary all-star cat of coaches??? You make it sound like he is an orphan asking for some porridge.

At some point, he has to be something other then a victim. The best always rise above their difficulties. This guy doesn't.

Let him find the right circumstance. We don't have the luxury of creating the perfect situation for this guy.

Yeah. He has one final chance with the Jets to prove himself. And if Garrard and then Smith end up as starters for the Jets for the 2013 season... who will be at fault in your mind? Something tells me it will be Morninwheg's.

Do you think opening day really means anything?

    SODA.
