I think the fans gave their opinion of Sanchez at the Knick game. Just imagine that times 4 with every snap in the preseason and training camp. It's not Idzik's fault but he has to fix it. When people think of Sanchez they think of butt fumble. Sanches was a mistake that we need to move on from. Take the hit, pay the money and hope Garrard can hold up until Smith is ready

    Please John Idzik..

Do what is right for this franchise and get rid of Sanchez, once and for all. Yes, it's a huge money investment, but it will all be worth it when Geno Smith either lights the world on fire his rookie year or learns from an extremely knowledgeable veteran in Garrard.

Sanchez is toxic to everyone in Florham Park, and I pray Idzik understands that.

I know this could go in the Sanchez thread, but it will be buried under the nyjunc and Hobbes man love for him.

    Disagree.
Sanchez is a mentally broken down man right now. He's got no power to be toxic, or inspiring, or anything else. Actually, he can serve as a visual reminder about what will happen after you shit your pants -- for both players and the management.

2nd Sanchez actually has a job. Someone gotta hold the clipboard.

Lastly, what happen to your avatar?! Return Brady or at least some sexy girl.

Cutting Sanchez would be a mistake, and here's why.

I would start Sanchez all 16 games next year. If you're paying him $12 M you might as well pay him to suck for you so you can tank the season and speed up the rebuild.

Throwing Geno into the fire with no offensive weapons would be almost like setting him up to fail. It could shatter his confidence.

Let Sanchez's penchant for buttfumbles and red zone INTs work in the best interest of the franchise.

After he turns the ball over 52 times in his 4th year as a starter and puts up 0 pts against the worst teams in the league.

Couldn't disagree more. The Jets are very likely 9-6 last year if not for Sanchez and the worst QB play in the history of the NFL. They have already made some significant improvements and even with a rookie who played below average (thought nowhere near as terrible as Sanchez) they would still be contenders. The best possible thing that could happen to this franchise is if they cut Sanchez June 1st and never look back. After June 1st, the same money is spent whether or not you have the cancerous dead weight of a wasted roster spot known as Sanchez or not.

Foley relieved him multiple times to lead us to wins.

Pitt was a good team in a down period for the AFC. They had an easy division and got high seeds usually only to lose at home in the postseason. Before they got Ben they were known for losing at home in postseason.

Cowher took over in '92, Ben came along in 2004.

    Pitt 1992-2003:
1992: lost div rd at home
1993: lost WC gm on rd
1994: lost title game at home to worst conf champ of all time
1995: won AFC(beat 9-7 WC team at home in title game)
1996: lost on rd in div rd
1997: lost at home in title game
    1998-2000: missed playoffs
2001: lost at home in title game
2002: lost on rd in div rd
    2003: missed playoffs
    Overall: 7-8
    at home:
    home playoff losses: 4
    Ben era(2004-cuurent: 10-4
    home losses: 2

Good team in weak era of AFC football pre Ben, as the AFC got stronger and Pitt got stronger they became a big time team but those pre Ben teams just took advantage of a weaker AFC.

Obviously I hate drafting a QB but a new GM will want a new QB. I hope mark is given a chance to win the job b/c he will and hopefully he writes a Brees story- I'm not saying he will be Drew Brees just that after his team drafted a QB Brees then stepped up. Let's hop[e mark does this.

If Idzik felt he could simply hand the keys to Geno I think he would've drafted him in the first round. Why risk passing on franchise QB so somebody else can scoop him up? Drafting Geno in the 2nd makes me believe Sanchez still has a shot to be opening day starter. Garrard was never serious competition.

I am guessing they will keep Sanchez at least until June and maybe even longer if they are willing to absorb the entire hit this year. During that time they will keep trying to trade him in hopes of offsetting at least a portion of that 8 million they owe him.

Dude, het a grip...put yourself in Idziks chair.

You pay a QB 6 mil to go somwhere else. Your "starter" is a guy that hasnt plaed a down in 2 years due to injury, and now you're down to your rookie, that hasnt ever played in a pro style offense.

They dont run the airraid in the NFL.

I have a tough time thinking Idzik wants to parlay the 39th pick into being out pf the GM business.

The Seachickens carried Matt Flynn at over 6 mil, because it was prudent, and Smith is not as NFL ready as Wilson was coming out.

yeah, im sure that they will try and trade him until may 30th, cutting him if they cant to take marks entire hit this year.

im not sure who would take him though?

i choose to look at how terrible mark was in a 62 game sample as opposed to how good he looked in a 6 game sample.

when you are the worst qb in football over 60+ games, that is pretty telling.

    1) we already know it was sanchez and not the OC/talent.

    2) he will never start again in the NFL. maybe the CFL or arena league

6 games is an incredible small sample. i can take a 6 game span from just about every player in NFL history and make them look great.

you know what isnt a small sample? 68 games. as in every game mark has played in his career, where his numbers are absolutely terrible

mark isnt the best QB on the roster. he is the worst.

is garrrard made of glass? yes. still better then mark.

is geno a rookie with tons of question marks? yes. still better then mark

is mcelroy mediocure at best? yes. still better then mark

Sanchez is the worst starting QB in football. all the knocks on those other guys are accurate, but they are still better then sanchez, and far and away a better option.

plus, its moot, since sanchez will be cut soon

jets won those games in spite of him. when you throw 4 picks and win you shouldnt really take credit for that
