OK give him shit for that. We would not have been in position to win this game without Sanchez making some great throws.

To correct it's hard to say that Sanchez out performed Brady in that game, it's true that Sanchez played a mistake free game and did throw for 3 TDs' But he also only threw the ball for 198 yards.

Brady threw 2 TD's and 1 pick, but the key was the o-line for the Jets kept Sanchez clean the ground game gained 120 yards, and the defense sacked Brady 5 times and harrassed him all night.

it's also worth noting that 2 of the Jets touchdown drives came off of poor decisions by New England, the first towards the end of the second quarter where the Pats tried a direct snap fake punt and failed. Sanchez 40 yard two play drive for a TD.
And another was from a turnover on the new england 20 yard line...again forced by special teams and defense that left Mark in a good situation for a short drive to score.

He gets kudos for executing, but it's not like Sanchez drove the team 80 yards in 2 minutes to win the game.

Just another example of Sanchez benefiting from an outstanding defense and special teams play.

Sanchez did what he had to do in the game and played a nice game, but it was the defense that negated the potent Patriots offense and rattled Brady all night.

Not taking anything away from Sanchez for playing error free ball, but to say the Jets won the game because he outperformed Brady isn't accurate.

Maybe Sanchez has a clock in his head, but it's still on PST?

sanchez was the difference. He sucked and the Jets lost. If Sanchez had played halfway decent, the Jets would have won the game. His lousy decision making and poor execution cost the Jets the game.

Actually I think he did play half way decent. Unfortunately half way decent doesnt cut it on the road vs. Brady.

Bottomline - he cant allow the game to end like it did!!!

    28/41 328 yards, 8 ypa, 1 TD, 1 INT, 1 fumble.
    26/40 337 yards 8.2 ypa 1 TD, 2INT

Those are two stat lines from today. Those stat lines aren't decent or average?

That's the point. Even when Sanchez has a GOOD game, he tends to make devastating mistakes, doesn't he?

That's the thing, it was decent game. Both stat lines were. If you didn't think this was a decent game, you either don't understand the meaning and use of "decent" or only watch highlights.

This was definition of a decent game. I have no idea why people think it was bad. It wasn't good, it wasn't bad, it was decent.

He had some really nice throws today, but when we needed him to perform most, he let us down again.

Mark Sanchez is now 3-7 in his last 10 starts. I guess he will throw on one of those dapper suits he wears and go talk left-wing politics with Eva tonight.

Tom Brady will be watching film.

As Ray Lucas said, he was good and he was terrible.

That said, that's kind of the story of his career so far, no?

People expecting an Eli-like emergence from Sanchez (since people keep making the comparison) are going to be waiting for a long time.

Tom Brady will go back to Giselle who will be yelling at Brandon Llyod on the phone for not catching the one ball Brady threw at him.

So you agree, he had a decent game? That's all I'm saying. People are acting like today wasn't a "semi-decent" game or it was terrible. I just don't see that

Why can't Sanchez throw the ball away?

I agree he had a decent game. He made some good throws and many of them were medium range (the best change from the Schotty era), it was nice to watch. However, he also made some terrible mistakes which are hard to overlook.

So overall it was decent, but most people tend to stick on the mistakes when the team loses. If the Jets win this game 31-29, very few people would be talking about the safety, the interception, or the sack before Folk bailed him out (the fumble in OT wouldn't have happened). People would have said that Sanchez played a good game and all that.

This is why Sanchez is frustrating. 4th quarter down 10 on our own 6

    Sanchez goes:
    Hill for 21
    Hill for 7
    Kerley for 19 (3rd and 3)
    Incomplete
    Greene for 3
    Hilliard for 8 (3rd and 7)
    Hill for 15
    Sacked
    Keller for 6
    Kerley for 7 (3rd and 6)
    Keller for 7, TD

That's 9/10 for 93 if I added correctly. (didn't include runs for long drive)

Brilliant drive, but then we only got that 2-3 other times all game. I don't expect him to be driving 90+ yards the field so easily, but I do wish he could remain that dialed in for the majority of the game.

Sanchez played a decent game regardless of win or loss. He wasn't the main reason for the loss and he wasn't the main reason we were in the game. He was part of a team and people seem to forget that around here, both ways

Are you referring to the one play that put the jets in horrible fg position, that they ultimately converted anyway?

There was no way he was throwing it away on that last place. Best case scenario is that he tucks it and takes a sack. They were in his face almost immediately. Sanchez has to learn the small things like when and where. He knows how to get the job done - he has shown that... He just has a lack of intuitive nature for the game.

Take a sack and live to see another down. He tries too hard to save the team that he hurts them.

I don't know that he played a decent game just because a lot of his bad moments came in crucial situations.

-Botching the handoff to Greene which led to a safety
-Throwing the really stupid pick when he was trying to go to Hill took at least 3 off the board
-Taking a big sack when you guys were in FG range(luckily Folk still made it)
-Losing the fumble at the end of the game

Plenty of QBs make mistakes and bad decisions but the way he made them in the most crucial situations led me to think this was a below average game
